Rudra stood outside his father's room, shocked and shattered.  While Romendra was frantically calling people and talking in coded language. And then in between talking to things in his rooms… and crying for Sati.

In about two hours few normally garbed people entered the Ashram and they started to enquire people around.

Romendra sat in the middle heading and planning some rescue mission. It seemed like some high profile intelligence case. Rudra couldn’t eat or rest. Gradually the whole ashram was abuzz with the news that Sati left with people because Rudra had not wanted her to stay. Those tiny kids who always looked up at him with admiration and hero worship turned fearful and sceptical. Jhumki Ddhinku and Dhondu stood a bit away from him but he felt as if even they had questions in their eyes as to why he did what he did?

Rudra wanted to scream at people and say that he had done nothing, that he had not really wanted her to go, that she was the fool who just took his word for the literal meaning and had left. And that man had said he was related to her and wanted to look after her.

That he didn’t really hate her…… Didn’t he hate her?

As long as he can remember he has been his Dads priority but 6 years ago his father had chosen her over him. It had shattered his 20 years old self. He had felt like an outcast in his father’s priority list. But then he met a guileless girl and his burning heart had soothened with her every word, her every smile, her every tiny touch and most of all her friendship. In his anger he had spilled his venom, but the poison was now burning his whole being and for this moment he didn’t mind being engulfed by the whole of this fire within him.  He never thought in just a few days she would become such an integral part of his. Everywhere he looked it looked, every person, every animal, every tiny part of the Ashram and the surrounding looked pale and parched without her laughter, her scolds to Dhondu or Ddhinku, her worn out shoes, her messed up dark long hair, her stupid ways of offering all her precious treasures for silliest of things. She was probably the last person who would be equipped to handle herself among a group of dangerous mafia, as the people in that room talking to his Dad said.

Diya: Dada, aap khana kha lijiye aake. Mithu masi bula rahi hai dining room mein.

Rudra turned to look at Diya…. He had so much torture in his eyes that Diya was taken aback.

Diya: Dada?

Rudra: Diya… I … I can’t eat baby. Aap Mithu Masi ko bata do please. (He was about to turn away when Diya held his hand and started to pull him along with her.) Diya kaha leke jaa rahi ho beta?

Diya brought him into a small garden, it was simple but very beautiful.

Diya: When we are upset, angry or lonely, we come here. This place Sati Di made for all of us.  And we come here to sometimes cry or sulk and she always makes us feel better somehow. Sati di calls it our FIRDAUS. And there is a special part to it….

She opened a small door and took him up a few stairs…. It was a big wooden boat from where one could see the beautiful garden, tree house, and the back of the ashram and the back lawn and yet it was cut off from the rest of the hullabaloo of the Ashram.

Diya: Dada, She made it for all of us and we always feel better after being here for sometime. We get answers for all sorts of questions and dilemmas. This is our magical place, we always feel peaceful and sorted in our minds in here. Sometimes we come here to rant at God, our parents or on ourselves. But after being here each one of us have felt the magic of this place.  Baba says that's Sati Di, she puts magic in everything with her love for all of us. And I know she would have wanted you to have this place for yourself today. Try it….

And then she left him and went away…

Rudra thought would you still want me to be here after you know what I have done to you Sati? He was still breathing deeply when he remembered the bundle of letters he had seen in her shoe box,  for him. And he stayed there for some more time and kept breathing in a beautiful fragrance. And then it struck him…. He can actually find her ….. How could he forget about it…

But the question was did he really want to find her?
