A small bet to pass the time.

"So, China is conspiring against us?" Val asked after Ghastly had filled them in on what he had overheard.
"That's what it sounded like." Ghastly answered.
"But I don't understand why, she is already grand mage, she already has all the power, respect, and money she could ever want. What's her reasoning?"
Skulduggery hadn't said a word since they had entered the diner. He was clearly thinking, and doing that thing he does when he ignores everyone and everything around him.
"Time for a bet." Valkyrie whispered over the table to Ghastly.
"Now is no time for games, Valkyrie!... So what do I get if I win?"
"I pay for dinner, reverse if I win, deal?"
"Wait, what's the bet?"
"I bet I can make Skul snap out of his thinking trance."
"Deal. Rules are, no physical contact, and no speaking directly to him."
"Agreed" Valkyrie then proceeded to pick up her phone as though it had been ringing "Hello?" She answered in a cheery voice. "Fletcher, oh, heyyy!" She was speaking at least two octaves higher than usual and had a bright smile on her face. "What am I up to? Just sitting with Ghastly and Skul" She then takes the phone from her ear, covering up the speaker, and said to a smug looking Ghastly and a still out of it Skulduggery "Fletcher says hi guys!" She puts the phone back up to her ear, and noticed that Skulduggery still wasn't listening. Right, time to pull out the big guns, she decided. "What am I wearing?" Still an an annoyingly high pitched voice, "My new armoured clothes, why?... Well, yes, i suppose they are quite tight... I think they show off my curves nicely too!" At this Skulduggery's head turned slightly so his ear was pointed at val and he could hear her clearer. Ghastly's smug smile dropped instantly, it was only a small movement on Skulduggery's part, But Ghastly could tell he was listening. "Fletcher, what is that groaning sound? What are you doing?" Playing innocent always gets his attention. "What underwear am I wearing? Umm, I forgot, gimme a sec." Valkyrie looked down her top and remembered that this morning she thought it would have been funny if she put on the new, sexy lingerie she had bought specifically to torture Skul with. "A black and red lace bra and matching panties, why? Fletcher what is going on? Why do you need to know all -" Before she could finish her sentence she founder her phone out of her hand and in Skulduggery's, up against his ear.
"Right, listen hear you little shit, if you ever do anything like this again, I don't care how far you think you can teleport, I will find you and I will kill you." When there was no reply, he looked at the phone and realised it was off. He slowly turned to look at Valkyrie "You bastard." was his simple reply. But it was all Val needed to go weak in the knees, thinking about what would happen later that night for the trouble she had caused. Good thing she was sitting down.
"Well," She took in a shakey breath, "Ghastly's paying for dinner!"

A/N Well, here you go. As promised, another chapter. I know it was slightly longer than two weeks but I am pretty sure those were the closest updates ever, other than the first few chapters as I released those all in one go.
School sucks right now, and the stupid teachers keep giving me homework, which is why it took longer than promised to update. I even set an alarm on my phone, to write a new chapter. It honestly got to the point where I had my screensaver set to a message I wrote to myself that read "WRITE A NEW CHAPTER BEFORE WATCHING ANOTHER EPISODE OF SUPERNATURAL!" (I'm only on season 7 (I have been binge watching it for a few weeks for the first time) so please don't spoil anything in the comments!) So, yeah, anyway, I am really really really trying hard, and it means a lot that people are still reading this, and it means even more that people think it's good!
