So, now China knew that Skulduggery, Valkyrie and Ghastly knew that she was in love with Phineas. They also knew that she was working for Phineas, and he did not love her back. Her whole plan had gone to shit. she couldn't tell Phineas, he would be absolutely furious, he would definitely kill her and she did not want that. She could also not come clean to Skulduggery and make up some lie about being a double agent because how would that explain her being in love with him? Maybe she could just deny the whole thing, say she had never even heard of Phineas before. That wouldn't work either because Skulduggery would know, but he is just a detective, and she was the grand mage, what power could he possibly have over her. There was a chance he would let Lord Vile come out to play, but after what happened last time, she doubted he would. I mean, what would you do? Her self preservation instincts were more intense than anyone else in the world, she was willing to giver everything up so long as she would stay alive. What to do?

Whilst China was left in her office pondering the situation, Ghastly parted ways with Skulduggery and Valkyrie. It wasn't until they were both safely in the car though, that Skulduggery finally broke the silence.

"I don't like this." Was all he said.

"Me neither Skul, but it doesn't matter if we like it or not, we have to try, i mean, we've faced worse than this before right?"

"I'm not so sure Val," Skulduggery started, "I mean, we have faced people with more power than him before, but never someone with the same powers as him. He could be anyone, and all he has to do is will it, and you die. Now, me, I'm already dead, but if you die," his voice started to break as a single tear rolled down his facades face, "Val, if you die... I only just got you back, I can't lose you again."

Valkyrie took his hand in hers, "You won't Skul, I promise you."

"You can't promise that. You can't. You don't know, I-"

"Skulduggery Pleasant, you listen to me. I am not going anywhere, it is going to take a lot more than some creep with a fucked up discipline to get rid of me." Skulduggery chuckled at his stubborn Valkyrie. His Valkyrie. Yeah, he liked that...

How is everyone doing with the quarantining?? Normally I never want to go out, but now someone has said I'm not allowed to, I want nothing more than to be hanging out with my mates.
