Klaus' POV
With darkness finally starting to fall, I realize how 'lost' I've been in today, how 'consumed' I've been by making sure that everything is perfect, and now the moment has arrived.
With the lights now glistening in the dark, perfectly lighting up the garden surrounding us all, and the stars so bright in the sky, the moon 'full, our' moon, the moment couldn't possibly be any more perfect than it is now...
"Everybody? If I could just have a small moment, of your attention, please!" I call. The crowd quietens, turning to face me as I walk to stand by Chelsea's side. "I'd like to ask Chelsea, to press this button."
Her smile grows wider as I reach her, along with mine. The shyness that for some reason has never left me since meeting her, returns again.
Her beautiful brown eyes search mine, as I make my way around the back of her. I place the remote in her hands, wrap my arms around her waist and hold her close to me, resting my chin on her shoulder.
She tilts her head toward mine, her cheek touching my own as she lets out a small, breathy laugh, followed by a content sigh.
"Go ahead, love." I whisper in her ear, kissing her cheek.
She presses the button, gasping as the rest of the golden lights surrounding us start to shine, filling the garden with warmth. Everyone claps as Chelsea lets out a small, disbelieving giggle. "I've never seen anything so beautiful..." She breathes in disbelief.
"Neither have I..." I suggest, with my eyes only on her, nothing else.
Her smile grows even wider as her eyes flood with tears, noticing my suggestion.
It's true.
I've 'never' seen anything as beautiful as her...She slowly turns her body to face me, our eyes connecting with matching smiles. She wraps her arms around the back of my neck. grasping my hair with one hand as I pull her further into me, kissing her perfect lips.
"I love you so much." She cries, giggling. "I can't believe you've done all of this for me, Klaus..."
"I just wish, that there was a way, that I could show you exactly how much I love you..." I whisper back.
"You already have..." She breathes, with a small, breathy laugh.
"No. I haven't." I chuckle at the irony. "This is nothing. This doesn't even 'begin' to scratch the surface. I 'know,' I will 'never' be able to show you just how much I love you."
Her smile widens again as a precious tear rolls down her cheek. I lift my hand from around her waist, catching the tear with my finger, before kissing her beautiful lips.
She presses her head against mine. We close our eyes, being together. "That's the bench, isn't it..." She sighs contently, having noticed the most intimate part of the garden.
"It is." I smile. "The one we sat on all night, at the dance when we first met."
"It looks 'exactly' like it did that night. Even the way the lights are placed around it, and the tree hanging over it, I can't believe you managed to do that..." She breathes in disbelief, as she lifts her head to look into my eyes. "It's beautiful, Klaus..." Her hands slide down my chest as she looks at the intimate area I've prepared for us.
She glances back at me as I hold out my arm. She wraps her arm around mine, and I slowly escort her to the bench, mirroring the night we met, when I'd walked her, arm in arm, to sit down on the bench at the mayor's mansion. "I just--I can't believe this, It looks 'beautiful,' I can't believe you've done this..." She giggles emotionally, clearly overwhelmed by the memory and the significance of the bench.
