The middle chicken of the three looked at me. It had yellow feathers and yellow chicken feet. They were harpies. The harpy on the right had orange feathers and hair. The harpy on the left had dark blue feathers and purple eyes.
That's when I realised how much danger I was in. "Who are you and what do you want?"
The blue harpy answered, " I am αθλιότητα." Misery, my brain translated the Ancient Greek to Modern English. The yellow harpy also answered, " I am πόνος." Pain, I was starting to worry. The third, orange harpy looked me in eyes. I heard her raspy voice in my head. "I am ταλαιπωρία." Suffering.
I decided I didn't want to find out what they were here for. I was about to take a step back when Suffering spoke again, "You can't run from us dear, we were made to find you. It's our destiny to destroy you."
Her words run in my head, 'It's our destiny to destroy you.' Who would want me dead so much to send harpies. "Whom do you work for?"
"We work for the Titans, the future rulers of Earth." I didn't know who the Titans are but they mustn't be someone I want to meet.
"Well. It was nice meeting you, but I'm afraid I have to be somewhere." I said backing away from Misery, Pain and Suffering. I had only gone a few steps when Pain said, "You're not going anywhere. Lord Kronos is very interested in you."
Misery screamed and I dropped my sword to cover my ears. Imagine fingernails on a chalkboard but times 1 million. That’s only part of the terrible sound I heard. I became dizzy and was unaware of Pain standing behind me.

Jemma raced through the forest, she had sensed the fear and pain that Brianna was going through. Brianna didn't know it, but Jemma had an empathy link with her. Jemma abruptly stopped in a clearing, she was waiting for a sign to where Brianna was.
That was when she heard the most terrible sound, a harpy scream. She covered her ears and plunged into the forest, in the direction of the scream.

Pain scraped her claws across my back and I screamed. I ran away but I was disorientated. I thought I was running back to the cabins but I was running to Misery. She screamed again and I changed the direction I was running in. I pushed my hands into my ears to block the screaming but it didn't help.
Then I hear Suffering's voice in my head "Nothing you do is going to work. Stop fighting and we will make it as painless as possible." I stopped running and faced the harpies. "You don't belong here, they won't notice your absence."
I was about to give up and let the harpies have me when I remembered one of the demigods I met. I saw his red hair and hazel eyes. "Don't give in, you can defeat them." He seemed to say. Then the vision disappeared.
Misery's scream stopped and I took my hands out of my ears. I picked up my sword and faced the harpies. Suffering spoke first, "You insolent child. You will die here." I stepped back into the river and strength surged through my body. I was going to fight the harpies on my own terms, not theirs.
The river exploded and hit all three harpies. They shrieked and then regrouped. They came at me together but got repelled by blasts of water. Misery opened her mouth to scream but I was one step ahead of her. I thought of her trapped in a giant sphere of water, and the water did as I thought.
Misery was in a sphere of water; Pain and Suffering were standing by, flabbergasted. Then they came to their senses and flew away, shrieking in fear. Misery screeched and the sphere became tighter. The water was compressing again when Misery exploded into golden dust.
Controlling the water took the energy out of me because I felt weak. I stepped out of the river and fell to my knees. I fell onto my face and passed out.
Jemma raced into the clearing where Brianna lay on her face. She noticed how the river bank was flooded and the water was around the clearing. Suddenly a glowing trident appeared over Brianna's head. Jemma looked at Brianna, passed out on the ground. Jemma then bowed, "Brianna, Daughter of Poseidon."

I was in my room, looking at a younger version of myself. My hair was in two piggy tails, on the sides of my heads. There were snarls and growls coming from outside. My hands were over my ears trying to block out the noise. My lower lip was trembling and I had tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Mum! Mum!" I screamed. I was curled in a small ball on my bedroom floor. I looked around and saw the crayon drawings I had done as a child. There was thousands of pictures of someone fighting monsters. One monster was dragon-like but it had 5 heads. In another drawing were 3 flying chickens and one person by the river.
That's when I realised why I was so important.
I was looking more intently at a picture on the dresser. It had a girl in roman armour standing above a deep hole. At the bottom of the deep hole was a sarcophagus. I could see shards of something in the sarcophagus.
I was wondering where that could be when a lady with worried, brown eyes burst through the door. "Don't worry Brianna, I'm here." Her brown hair was up in a messy bun. The lady embraced the younger version of me and I realised it was my mum.
I had never seen my mom like this before. I looked outside the window and saw a torrential downpour outside. I also saw a dark shadow slowly advancing on the house. Someone was battling the shadow with storms.

Jemma pulled out a drachma and looked at the water vapour in the air. "Iris, goddess of rainbows, except my offering." Jemma flicked the drachma into the mist and a rainbow formed. "Chiron, trainer of demigods." Jemma said and immediately Chiron appeared in the rainbow.
"Chiron, Brianna has passed out near the riverbank. I am bringing her back to the infirmary, be ready to treat her." Jemma said quickly.
"I'll be right on it." Chiron then disappeared and the rainbow shimmered. Jemma walked over to Brianna, she was about to pick her up when a bright light shined in the clearing. Then it stopped and a man stood where the bright light had been. Jemma looked at the man and gasped. Then she came to her senses and bowed.

There was a boy, who looked about 16, outside who was fighting the shadow. I walked down the stairs and through the living room. Then out of the house and I stood next the to the boy. He had sea-green eyes, much like mine. Except that he had black hair that ends around his ears.
"Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to help me?" he asked turning his head to look at me.
We stood side-by-side and faced the oncoming human shaped shadow. The shadow stopped for a moment, confused, but then continued heading for us. I reached for my sword, which was sheathed around my waist, and pulled it out. Then I advanced, the mysterious boy flanking my left. He had drawn his sword, which had a trident above the grip.
The shadow stopped moving and waited for us to come to it. We both stepped forward and then paused. I summoned a strong rain to pour down in front of the monster, stopping it from proceeding. The shadow growled at us, yes I do mean growled.
It showed its long, sharp teeth and red eyes. I hadn't noticed it before but the glowing, red eyes seemed fixated on me. The storm cleared for a moment, then he charged. That boy was fast, the shadow was still looking at me when his sword hit the monsters stomach. The shadow yelled and hit him in the chest, sending him flying backwards. I charged as he was picking himself of the ground. The boy ran at the shadow and rolled under its legs, the shadow just missed his head.
The monster ran at me and I poked my sword in the shadow's shoulder. It seemed to do nothing except spur the thing on. It was running at me and I was paralysed with fear.
