Oh and Annabelle is 18 her birthday is the start of the year.

Annabelle's POV:
I groan and roll over, landing on something hard. I realise I fell asleep with the scrapbook my Mum made me and gave to me for my sixteenth birthday. I feel an ache in my chest and frown. Why does it hurt so much? Why can't I cry?!
I get up and grabbing a pair of denim shorts and a white singlet, with ruffles at the top, I head into the bathroom and have a shower and wash my hair. Before getting out and changing, then putting on a little makeup. I dry my hair and grab a pair of floral flats, then I head downstairs.
'Annabelle? Where are you going?' I tense when I hear Jay and turn around to see him sitting on the couch. His eyes are blood shot and he has a bottle of whiskey in his hand, oh no....
'I'm going out with Maxine' I lie
'Annie I am so sorry for hurting you! I didn't mean it! Do you forgive me?' he begs then starts sobbing. I just stand there stunned at the scene that unfolds before me
'Jay it's OK. I forgive you. Come on, let's get you to bed' I say and take the liquor from him.
I help him upstairs to his bed and as soon as his head hits the pillow he is out. Hate to be him when he wakes up.
I close the door softly and head down to the kitchen, where I write a note to Jay explaining that I'm heading out for the day, then I grab his keys and drive off.
I pull up at a park and look around. There are Mum's with strollers and little kids. Teenagers relaxing on the grass, couples lying down or walking together and over near the playground there is a little girl's party.
I step out and grabbing my camera I go and sit under the shade of a tree and start snapping shots. A balloon that a little blonde girl let go, a teenage girl running with her back to the camera and her beautiful red hair flying behind her and a few others, but always making sure I don't get their faces, as I didn't ask permission to take their photos.
I stand up, two hours later, and get back into the car. I drive to a little coffee shop near the beach and have some lunch, before pulling out my phone and dialling Maxine
'Hey babes! How are you?' She practically yells down the phone
'Hey Max, can we meet up?' I ask
'Of course, see you in ten?' I can hear the curiosity in her voice
'Yeah, see you soon' I hang up and paying for everything I head back to the car
'Hey sweetie, you OK?' Maxine asks as I walk into her house and look around 'no one is home' she says, answering my unspoken question. I turn around and throw my arms around her and she holds me tight
'I'm so confused Max! I don't know what to do!' I exclaim into her shoulder, as she hugs me tight
'Come on, lets go up to my room' I nod and follow her up to her room and sit down on her bed 'so what's wrong?' she asks softly and sits down in front of me
