'I don't know where to start...' he says awkwardly

'From the start, I heard that's always the best place' he rolls his eyes and I smirk, then his eyes lose all trace of humour and his face goes blank.

'OK. Well the day we played hide and seek was the day that a group of rogues were wandering through our land. They found me and were about to kill me when Jason's father rescued me and killed the rogues, he took me back to his pack and after talking it over they decided to keep me, they believed I was the only survivor. They moved a month after they found me, I waited for you guys to find me but you never did, I thought you guys had given up'

'We looked for you, for ages!' I say and he nods sadly

'I know that now, anyway. We moved to here and I didn't bother contacting you guys, I thought about you every day but then it got too much to bear and I started to forget. I'm so sorry Annabelle, I should have tried harder' he says and tears fill my eyes

'No. Don't be sorry, I love you and I'm just glad I have you now' I say and hug him.

We sit in silence for a while until my phone starts to ring. I check the caller ID and see that it is my brother calling

'Hello?' I answer the phone

'Where are you?' Jay demands and I roll my eyes

'I'm with Damon' I say and there is silence on the other end 'Jay?' I ask

'Um OK, be home soon' he says in a stiff voice

'OK I'll see you soon, bye' I hang up and frown, that was weird.

Why did he suddenly change his mood? Why wasn't he yelling at me for running off and not telling him where I was going? I put my phone down and turn back to Damon.

'Can you please give me a lift home?' I ask and he nods

'Sure, let's go' he stands up just as my stomach lets out a loud rumbling, I blush and he lets out a loud laugh 'Would you like to go eat something first?' he ask and I nod and follow him down the stairs

'Are you going already?' Chase asks, walking into the lounge room

'Yeah I'm taking Annabelle home, but we are going out to get something to eat first' Damon says and Chase's eyes light up.

'I'll come!' he chirps and Damon goes to protest but I just smile and nod

'OK, let's go, I'm starving' I smile and we head out the front

'Wait! Where are you guys going?' Jason yells and I hear Damon groan

'Does everyone have to come' I hear him mutter under his breath

'Going out for dinner then dropping Annabelle home' Chase says in a cheery voice, why is he so happy?

'OK, I'll come' Jason says and Damon throws his hands in the air and lets out a frustrated sigh, I laugh under my breath and shake my head.

Ten minutes later we are walking into McDonalds, laughing and joking. All my previous anger and sadness are gone replaced with a calm feeling of happiness and ease. I have my brother back and hanging out with these guys is fun.
