After cleaning up her mess, Jungkook proceeded to the register to check Eve out. "I haven't seen you around. Are you new here?" He asked.
"Not really." Eve answered shyly. "But I haven't seen you either. Are you new?"
His smile illuminated his face once more. "No. I've been here a lot, but I admit, you're the prettiest face I've seen so far."
Eve gasped. Being called pretty wasn't something she wasn't used to or being flirted with. "You need glasses." She answered.
Jungkook laughed. "I wear them, thank you. I wouldn't need them for you. You are crystal clear." Jungkook gave Eve her total. She paid him.
"No change. Consider it donation for your jar replacement." She suggested.
"Thank you, seeing as how it's a special type of crystal that's not found just anywhere."
"Sounds like an introduction to an interesting story. You should tell me one day." Eve stated.
"Was that an invitation?" Jungkook's voice lowered.
Eve's heart skipped as she recollected her words. It beat faster, as she knew a voice would surface soon. But nothing transpired. She sighed. "Maybe. Consider it as a consolation for the accident." She smiled as she gathered her bags and headed out of the market in a hurry.
"Hey! Wait! You..." Jungkook sighed. "Forgot your wallet."
Eve arrived at her door and noticed someone waiting for her. She sighed as she shyly watched him put his hands in his pockets. "What are you doing here, Jin?" She inserted her key and pushed her way inside. Eve rolled her eyes as he followed her while she carried her bags to the bar, sitting them on top.
"I wanted to see you."
"Why?" Eve spoke as she put her things away.
"I mean, I can't stop thinking about our conversation. I need to explain myself." Jin moved closer to her. "You got me wrong, Evie."
Eve looked away and sighed. All she could think about was Taehyung and what he said about Jin. She wished he would remind her of this now. "What do I have wrong, Jin?"
"What I think of you. I do like you Evie...I..."
"Jin, I'm seeing someone." Evie blurted. She instantly felt guilty for having to tell a half truth.
"Oh." Jin lowered his head in defeat. "Of course you do Evie. Of course."
"I..." before she could complete her sentence, her doorbell rang. Eve's heart dropped at the possibility of it being him. A slight fear set it. She walked over to answer, hands slightly shaking on the knob as she turned. Her heart raced even more when she saw who stood behind it.
"Hello. I believe this belongs to you." He held out her wallet.
Eve smiled to hide her embarrassment as she took it. "Yes, I believe it is. Thank you. Sorry you had to do this."
"Please don't apologize. It was no trouble. I..." his sentence halted as Jin appeared behind Evie. "Sorry, I didn't know you..."
"I was just leaving." Jin interrupted. "See you soon Evie."
Jin walked past Evie and her visitor, sulking as he left. "Your boyfriend seems upset." Jungkook assessed.
"He's just a long-time friend." Eve amended.
"Oh, I see. Well, thank you for leaving your wallet." He smiled.
Eve frowned. "Wait, you're thanking me for my mistake?"
"For your perfect mistake." He charmed.
Genevieve? The deep calling of her name startled Eve.
"Y-You really have a way with words, huh?" She smiled, fighting through her upset.
I need you. Now. Eve silently fumed on his timing. "Thank you Jungkook. I have to go."
"Of course. Next time then." He smiled and waved before exiting her door. Eve smiled at his departure to hide the hurt of the other arrival
