"Kissing you is so addictive, fuck..."
Eve grinned on his lips. "I can't kiss you much longer. I have to work."
Taehyung pulled away and frowned. "Why would you want to do that?"
"You work. I'm your work, aren't I?"
"Stop. I don't like when you say that." Taehyung uttered.
Eve quirked her brow. "Hmm, dear Lucifer, can't handle the truth?"
Taehyung tugged Eve closer to him. "I ought to strip you down to nothing and fuck you senseless right here, right now." He muttered.
"You ought to but you won't," Eve smirked. A knock on Eve's door alerted them. "That must be Jungkook," Eve stated.
Taehyung tensed from her words, and this didn't go unnoticed by Eve.
"Taehyung?"
"Go. I can't stay."
"But..." He disappeared before she got a word out. Eve sighed as she answered the door. Seeing Jungkook's smile cleared her thoughts a bit.
"Hi."
"Hey," she tried to hide her blush, shaking her head to the wonder of why she's like that around him.
"Are you ready?" He asked as he held out his arm.
"This isn't a date, Jungkook. You're taking me to work." Eve reminded.
Jungkook, pretending to be taken back by Eve's assessment, teased her. "Ah, I am floored you would think of me as being so forward Eve."
Eve grinned at his cuteness. "Let's just go."
Before she burned a hole into her savings from being out of work so long, Eve took a job at the fresh market where she frequent. She learned the place was owned by Jungkook's aunt and he helped her from time to time. Jungkook brought Eve to the farm where some of their produce derived from teaching her about the quality of their products.
Eve found the outing relaxing despite being work related. She enjoyed her time with Jungkook and found him easy to get along with. He made her smile and she couldn't recall a moment anyone ever took so much time with her. Because no one had ever.
The crush she had for Jin since their teen years was a crutch to her. Yoongi used to tease her endlessly about it, but she never had the guts to admit it out loud. She kept it to herself. Knowing Taehyung admitted the hurtful truth of Jin not being the one for her, eased the blow of any rejection and also made her realize Jin only noticed her after she changed her appearance. It crushed her to realize his shallow nature. Even the devil had more respect than him.
There were moments during her conversation with Jungkook she waited for Taehyung to appear and he didn't. When asked if she was dating, she hesitated on the response, anticipating an interruption but nothing surfaced. She even provoked him by telling Jungkook she wasn't seeing anyone, which wasn't a total lie, but silence still echoed in her thoughts. This was odd to her. Why is it when I'm with Jungkook, Taehyung goes silent?
"Ready to head back to the city?" Jungkook asked. Eve nodded and smiled at him. As they walked back to the vehicle, he lightly grabbed her hand into his. Eve gasped as she felt a fluttering rush through her from his touch. She sensed him gazing at her, but couldn't look at him. Another question screamed loudly in her thoughts and took away her focus. She needed to see Taehyung immediately.
