Ben watched as his uncle's shuttle lands. Luke had gone to collect another force-sensitive child to teach at the academy. As the ship's ramp lowered, Ben got even more excited.
This isn't just any other force-sensitive, this little girl is his counter-part in the Force! He had already vowed to love and cherish her forever and he hasn't even met her yet!!
Luke walked down the ramp carrying a tiny little sleeping girl with chestnut-brown hair in three buns on the back of her head she looked to be six years old.
"Hello, Ben.", Luke said to Ben as he gently shook the little girl awake and then set her down," This is Rey".
Ben has never been happier in his sixteen years of living!
"Hello, Rey! My name is Ben Organa Solo, I'm your counter-part in the force!", Ben said happily to Rey, who buried her face in Luke's cloak shyly.
Luke and Ben laughed. The tiny girl looked at Ben and said " hello, Ben," then she asked, "Can I touch your hair? It looks really soft".
"Of course you can!", Ben replied happily with a big smile and knelt to her level.
Rey ran her little fingers through his hair and giggled.
"Ben, I bet Rey is hungry. Why don't you take her to the cafeteria to get some dinner and then show her around the academy?", Luke suggested.
"Sure thing!", Ben said, "Come on, Rey! Let's go get some food!".
Ben held out his hand for Rey to take. She looked at it hesitantly at first but then placed her tiny hand in Ben's much larger one.
They then walked hand and hand to the cafeteria.
