My Sweet, My Dear, My Rey

Chapter Fourteen

Rey's eyes snapped open and she sat up, gasping and in a cold sweat. "Hey, you good?", Jonas asked. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.", Rey said. "It's ok,", Jonas reassured her, "no one can hurt you n-", a sudden blast rocked the ship. Rey then remembered what Kylo had said. He would see her shortly. "It's them! Don't ask me how I know, I'll explain later.", Rey said as she ran to the gunner man's seat.

She was right, the Night Buzzard was hot on their tail. They were trying to disable the ship so they couldn't get away. Rey fired back, trying to defend her and Jonas' ship.

Give up, Rey, accept that you are in my hands now.

Kylo was trying to get to her head and distract her. Rey was determined not to let that happen. "Shut up! I was never yours in the first place!", she snapped back.

Oh, but that's where you're wrong, my love

The canon in front of Rey burst into flames and flew off. Rey cursed under her breath. They didn't have any weapons to defend their ship now.

"Jonas! Get us into hyperspace now!", Rey yelled. "I'm trying!", he yelled back, "it's not working! It's like some other force is messing with it.". Kylo. Of course that bastard would do that!, Rey thought.

I'll have you in my arms in just a few short seconds, sweetheart...

"Jonas! We need to go now!!", Rey screamed. "I know! The ship has been taken over by theirs, and this ship is too small to have escape pods.", Jonas explained. "I have an idea! Get to the controls, I'll try to push them away.", Rey said.

Rey stretched out her hands and called on the Force, while Jonas went to the controls to send them into hyperspace. Rey used as much power as she could to push the Night Buzzard away. It worked! But it only shocked them and moved them a few feet away, before Rey couldn't try anymore and most of her strength was gone.

I admire your determination, Girl, but you are untrained. Your strength is nothing compared to mine at the moment, but when I teach you, we will be unstoppable together!

Rey gulped. She remembered he only called her 'Girl' when he was mad or irritated by her actions. Rey ran to Jonas. "I'm sorry! I couldn't- I wasn't strong enough!", Rey cried. "It's ok. We'll be ok.", Jonas reassured her, even though he was not so sure of that himself.

They heard the Night Buzzard connect to their ship and the door opened. Rey looked the door to the cockpit when they heard heavy footsteps come onto their ship. Rey backed into a corner of the small cockpit and sank to the ground. She couldn't believe it, she was going to go back to that monster. Rey was scared and angry. Rey remembered saying something about how she would rather die than go back to him. "I'm gonna kill myself!", Rey whispered.

Rey! Don't say that! Why would you do that? I'll make you happy, sweetheart, I promise.

Rey felt warm tears steam down her face. "They're in here.", she heard Cardo say. "Kill the boy, I'll get Rey.", Kylo said. In a few seconds, the door burst open and Rey turned her head away because she did not want to witness her best friend of four years get killed. She heard it all though, and his body hit the floor.

Rey listened as those familiar heavy footsteps, with those long strides, come up to her. She heard the rustle of fabric as he knelt next to her. It was the same scene that played over four years prior: Kylo would find her, kill someone dear to her, she would be curled up like this, he would kneel next to her, and after he talked to her for a bit, he would take her back to his lair.

Rey heard the same hiss that sounded when his mask was coming off. The mask was placed next to him on the floor. He slowly brought her head up, out of its hiding spot, and he looked at her for a while. His fingers explored her facial features and she studied him for a second before looking to the floor.

He pulled her into a tight hug that nearly killed her. "I missed you so much.", he murmured into her ear. Rey say there uncomfortably as he sniffed her hair, and kissed her head, until she came back to her senses and her anger flared up again. "No!", she screamed, "Don't touch me!". She pushed him away from her with all her might and stood up. He didn't move much from her push. He sighed and stood up to his full height, which made Rey look more like a five year old child again than a thirteen year old girl.

Rey was determined not to go without a fight. She had grown a sense of stubbornness and independence since they had last met. "Rey, I can touch you all I want, we're soulmates. But because we seem to need to learn to love each other again, I won't. For now.". Rey bared her teeth at him and hissed, "I hate you! I'll never love you!".

Kylo just frowned. He put his face closer to hers. "We'll see.", he whispered, pressing his lips to hers and closing his eyes. Rey's eyes widened. It was a nice feeling, the kiss. But because it was from him, it was horrible.

Rey placed her hands on his huge chest and tried to push him away. Kylo gathered her wrists in one hand and held them against his chest. Rey managed to get one of her hands free, and she slapped him across the face.

Kylo growled, "why would you do that?! Can't you see? I love you and I won't stop loving you! We belong to each other. We're literally soulmates!". Rey started crying again. "You're obsessed with me! You kill people just because you want me. You've done this the whole time we've known each other, and it ruined my childhood! Now, I'm growing up and I should be allowed to choose who I want to love! I shouldn't have to be bound to someone who kills my loved ones because of a stupid Force bond!", she whined.

Kylo was getting more and more upset that Rey just wouldn't accept the fact that they were bound to each other and that he loved her, but just showed it in a different way. His fists clenched and his breathing became heavier. He tried to resist the urge to strike her or hurt her, but the dark side of him took over and his hands found their way around her little neck and they lifted her up high into the air.

"You foolish girl! Can't you understand anything?! I love you but I just show it in a different way! I just get mad sometimes and kill someone. Please just try to understand. Please give me another chance. You could be the one to calm me down when I get mad, hoe does that sound?", he said. He wasn't really choking her, just holding her up in the air. He lowered her down and brought her into a hug. Rey was done crying but some sniffles escaped her. "I guess we could try. Just please, please, please, PLEASE don't kill anymore people, at least around me.". Kylo nodded, "of course, Rey, anything for you.".

He guided her off the ship and onto The Night Buzzard. Then, they sped off back to the Finalizer.
