Bahati started having dreams that she has never dreamt of before. There was a couple. They looked like her and Jae, but of course it couldn't be. She had never met Jae before she actually did on the day she was supposed to die.
The couple was happy. She has never seen someone with her face so....ecstatic and in love. It brought a smile to Bahati's lips as she slept soundly in her bed. They were kissing, hugging, going on dates, picnics, weekend getaways to lakes, beach houses, snow cabins. It was a beautiful sight to behold, until it wasn't. That's when Bahati started moaning and groaning, tossing and turning in her sleep, alarming Jae. He could hear and feel her discomfort.
He rushed to her bedroom and to her bedside, standing over her, watching her closely. Her face grimaced. Jae wanted to ease her pain but first he had to find out what was causing her discomfort.
Both his hands started glowing as he placed them both to each side of her temple. Like that, he could see into her dreams like they were his dreams. He two saw the couple, who strangely looked like them, the same couple from his memories, though his memories were blurrier.
Seems like the man came from a wealthy family as well and found out about his relationship with the woman, whom they disapprove of. The son and parents fought and screamed. Glasses were thrown, smacking the woman in the head, making her bleed, and making the son even more furious.
He took her to the hospital to get checked out and injury fixed, before the son wanted give his parents another piece of his mind, but the woman tried to stop him. The woman had warned him of her prophetic dreams that always came true and she saw him die in her dreams, multiple times, in multiple different ways, but he didn't listen. He wasn't going to let his parents assault her and get away with it.
He stormed out the hospital with the woman following behind him, still trying to beg him because this is how her dreams played out. She was frightened for his life.
Not watching where he was going, stormed out in the middle of the street in anger, the woman had to watch her lover get hit by a truck and die right before her eyes. She became distraught at the bloody sight of his mangled corpse as she collapsed to the cold concrete ground, bawling her eyes out before fainting on the pavement.
Bahati started crying in her sleep as she felt the same pain as the woman in her dreams. Jae was dumbfounded at what he just witnessed. He wiped the tears from Bahati's eyes, before going back to putting his glowing hands on both sides of Bahati's temples and exchanged those dreams with a more pleasant one.
This dream was about her, him and Hyung, sitting at a dinner table, even though he couldn't eat, laughing and conversing and drinking merrily like a happy family and left her mind alone after that.
A smile came to Bahati's lips and Jae was finally able to relax now that she is no longer distressed.
Doing that took a lot of energy out of him, so he relaxed in a chair by her window and her bed and stared outside, thinking. He couldn't move very far. Those powers wasn't supposed to be used for that, but he didn't want Bahati to have nightmares or whatever she was having.
Though that dream, made more questions start popping up. Why did the couple look like them? Was that a memory that was somehow unlocked like his was starting to be? Could it be the two of them knew each other when he was alive? And they were together? Or was this just a nightmare. Something made up and to not be taken seriously? It couldn't be a coincidence since he too was having the same memories of the same couple as Bahati. That had to mean something.
The two of them dreaming of the same couple can't be a coincidence, so does that mean they meeting each other was.....fate? A second chance, though a funny as hell one considering she's alive and a human and he's dead and a reaper and another man is now involved and a living and breathing one at that.
Jae honestly didn't know what to believe. He knows once he becomes a reaper all of his memories and the memories of those that knew him or seen him are also erased. What confused him was the memories resurfacing. He didn't think it was possible, but what are the chances that as a reaper, you would meet someone you once's loved irrevocably when you were alive, and now work with them. Is that why the memories are coming back? Because him and Bahati are spending plenty of time together? If the answer is yes, then that would mean, these memories they are having are true and the two of them were.......involved with one another......
What the hell is he supposed to do with this information? It's not like they can just pick up where they left off. They are two completely different beings now. She's an living exorcist and he is a dead reaper. Nothing can ever happen between them now.
Jae groaned in annoyance. He honestly wished the memories didn't resurface. Just made things more complicated. He doesn't need complications. This was just supposed to be a partnership. Make a deal to postpone her death, collect enough souls for him to get promoted, reap Bahati's soul to keep the balance in the world and the end. That's what was supposed to happen.
Now we are talking about them having a past love affair that ended tragically and abruptly with his death that could have been avoided if he had listened to her about her prophetic dreams.
What is Jae supposed to do now? Can he still reap Bahati's soul after knowing their history?
