The next morning came as the sun began to rise up from behind the horizon, painting the sky warm colors, before turning the sky completely blue. Jae was lost in his thoughts the entire night but was satisfied that Bahati was able to sleep soundly after he exchanged her dreams.
He wasn't planning on telling her about their past history together. There was no point in telling her, since the relationship cannot continue and cannot flourish. She's still going to end up dead and passed on while he is stuck being a reaper for all eternity. They have no life together. Besides, he was hoping that she would just chalk it up as a nightmare and not think twice about it.
Yeah it was best that he had kept that to himself. His feelings were already conflicted. He didn't want Bahati to feel the same as he did.
Bahati slowly started waking up, blinking her dark brown eyes, scratching her hair through her orange bonnet and yawning widely.
Jae watched her closely, trying to take in as many details as he possibly could, so they could be permanently etched into his memory.
Bahati didn't notice Jae was present in her bedroom, until she came back from the bathroom after relieving herself.
"Did you stay in here all night?" She asked him, a bit surprised.
Jae simply nodded his head. "Problem?" He asked.
Bahati shook hers. "No, of course not. Believe it not, I enjoy your company and your presence. Just a bit surprised is all." She told him smiling a bit at him. It was more of a tired smile, but a smile Jae enjoyed seeing.
"It's time to help Si Hyuk reunite with his lover Taehyun." Bahati said, trying to pump herself up.
Hyung was already awake cooking eggs for breakfast. It was the least he could do, since he has been spending the nights at Bahati's apartment. He didn't wanna be a freeloader, even though he knew he was a guest. He saw Si Hyuk still sitting by the window, unrested as usual but where was Jae. He was usually out here with him, keeping an eye on him but he wasn't there this time.
Both Bahati and Jae came out of her bedroom to Hyung's surprise. He never rested in there, so why the change of "heart"? Was it because of the kiss yesterday?
Hyung had to chuckle at the thought of Jae getting jealous over Bahati. He thought it was cute and adorable the small things he is doing to make his "feelings" known even if he doesn't realize or understand it himself.
However, it did make him a bit sad because now, he too has feelings for Bahati and that kind of pushes him to the side. He knows Bahati doesn't feel that way towards him. Probably never will.
"Breakfast is almost ready." He said with a big grin on his face, making Bahati instantly smile back. His smile was contagious and Hyung loved seeing Bahati smile.
"Thank you so much for cooking." Bahati told him. "Honestly, you should move in and just be my roommate cuz I don't be getting good meals at home." She told him.
"I just might take you up on that offer." Hyung replied to her.
His lease for his apartment was ending soon and he was debating whether to renew it or not.
"Please do. I'm absolutely serious. We work together anyways. We should live together." Bahati said. "A two bedroom opened up recently and I've been meaning to snatch it up."
"Why?" Hyung asked.
"Becaus you was staying with me. Sleeping on that couch isn't comfortable I'm certain. Besides, Jae usually rested there before." Bahati explained.
"Always thinking of others." Hyung thought, smiling to himself.
"After this job, I'll sign the lease and we can all move in there together." She said smiling to herself.
