*Starlene*
We found Damien standing next to Selena. The two of them were talking quietly and I saw Selena blush at whatever he was saying to her. I hated to interrupt, but I needed to speak to my brother.
I walked up behind Damien and grabbed his arm, dragging him away.
"Star...what?" Damien asked.
"Sorry to drag him away from you, Lena, but I need to talk to him," I told my sister in law. I saw Calder give Selena an apologetic look as he stayed with her.
I dragged him to a corner of the ballroom. It was secluded and no one could hear there.
"What's going on Damien?" I asked.
"You're the one that dragged me halfway across the ballroom, Star," Damien told me, "You tell me."
"Isla told me that we'll be losing a King," I told him, "What's going on?"
Damien pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I'll tell you what's going on, but not now," Damien told me, "Let Rina, Em, Stef, Cal, and Mason know that we'll be convening in the shared study after the party's over."
I nodded and spread the word to the others.

About two hours later, the party subsided and my family all gathered in the study.
"What's going on, Damien?" I told him, "Why does Isla think that we're losing a King?"
Damien sighed.
"We will most likely be losing a King," Damien told us. He grabbed a book off of his desk and set it on the coffee table, so that we could all see it. "Gabe asked me to look in Tată's journals to see if he could offer some insight into the issue with Tatiana and Nysa. I was flipping through one of his journals when I found this." Damien pulled a folded piece of paper out of the book. He unfolded it and laid it out for us all to see.
It was a contract and the contents of it shocked us all.
"Does Gabe know about this?" I asked, concerned how my younger brother would react to this.
