*Gabriel*

I woke up the next morning to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. I got up and got ready for the day. I went downstairs and entered the dining hall to find Leon and Raine already there.

"Morning Sire," Leon greeted me as he offered me a plate with eggs and toast on it, "Breakfast?"

I nodded and sat down.

"Have you seen Tatiana yet?" I asked.

"No, but one of her handmaids was just here," Leon replied, "Apparently, we're meeting with Nysa this afternoon."

I almost choked on my eggs.

"What?" I asked.

"We're meeting with Nysa this afternoon," Leon told me.

"Wonderful," I said sarcastically, "That gives me so much time to prepare."

Was Tatiana trying to sabotage my efforts at a peaceful resolution? Did she really think that there was no way to resolve this peacefully?

It sure seemed that way, but regardless, it didn't matter. I would do my best to resolve this conflict peacefully.

I quickly finished eating and left to prepare for the meeting.

Later that day, I stood out on the field of wildflowers at the edge of the City of Faeries

Later that day, I stood out on the field of wildflowers at the edge of the City of Faeries. Melisande, Calypso, Tatiana, Leon, and Raine were with me and the sun was beating down on us as we waited for Nysa to make an appearance.

"She's late," Calypso noted. That was true. Nysa was supposed to be here an hour ago.

Then we watched as three people in dark gray cloaks appeared in the distance and walked towards us. Their hoods were up, so I couldn't see their faces.

They reached us and lowered their hoods. This group was made up of two women and a man.

"Well, well, Tatiana," one of the woman smirked, her green eyes glinting with malice, "I see you've brought in the vampires to assist you in your fight."

"I'm not here to fight for Tatiana," I told the woman, "Me and my companions are neutral and are not taking sides in this conflict. We're here to mediate."
