Chapter Seventeen:

Here To Win (Part One)

A/N: Sorry this took a little longer than some of my other ones! I hit a little bit of writer's block, haha. But, I think I am through it now. I think the best cure for writer's block is to just keep going. Hopefully the next chapter won't take as long! :D

Scars to Your Beautiful, Alessia Cara

"Okay! Serena, you're up!" The lady with the headset and clipboard, who Serena figured out was named Sophie, motioned for her to move onto the stage.

Serena shut her eyes for a second, and exhaled deeply. She looked down at Sylveon, and smiled. "You ready?"

"Sylvie! Sylveon!" (Translation: "Yes! Let's go!")

Sylveon wrapped one of her feelers around Serena's wrist. As soon as one of the judges announced her name, and Sylveon, the two of them stepped out to the stage. The two of them walked with elegance, grace, and poise. As soon as the spotlight fell on them, the crowd erupted into applause. Serena smiled, waving to everyone. Towards the front, she saw Ash, Maria, and Mary cheering ecstatically.

The two of them made it to center stage, and both Serena and Sylveon bowed low in curtsies. Then Serena stood to full height again and raised her arms. "Sylveon! Are you ready?"

"Sylveooooon!" (Translation: "I'm readyyyyyyy!")

With that, Serena giggled and made a spin. "Okay, Sylveon! Use Fairy Wind!"

Sylveon waved her feelers in delicate waves, releasing the shimmering, pink powder. She released it up above her into a flowing, twisting, shimmering column. The crowd began to cheer even louder.

"Now use Swift attack!" Serena reached out her hand towards Sylveon.

Sylveon sent stars up in the same fashion, swirling around the pink cloud above her. Then Sylveon began to dance and twirl beneath the swirling, sparkling mass. Then, suddenly, all of the lights in the auditorium began to dim, leaving the audience ooo-ing and ahh-ing in anticipation. The only light to be seen was from the swirling star and sparkling pink dust tornado. Serena smiled, spreading her arms wide, despite the audience not being able to see.

"Sylveon, use Moon Blast!" There was her trump card.

"Sylveeeeeoooooon!" Sylveon stood up on her hind legs, blue eyes aglow. All around her waves and sparks of blue and pink sparkled about. With that, Sylveon released the sparkling ball of light, sending it through the center of the swirling mass, causing each star to explode, leaving sparkles to surround the vortex. The glow from the Moon Blast was creating varying shades of blue, and purple inside as it rode to the top and jumped down again. Over and over, Sylveon kept using her feelers to continuously throw the Moon Blast ball up through the swirling mass.

"Okay Sylveon! Finale time!" At this, the lights began to slowly come back on. Once the lights were on enough, Sylveon jumped, doing a pirouette in the air, and sending out another Swift Attack, towards the Moon Blast ball. The stars crashed into the ball, creating a sparkling display of non-flammable fireworks on the stage; a combination of neon and pastel explosions lit up the stage. As Sylveon spun back down toward the stage, she began to blow the Fairy Wind away, adding even more shimmer to the stunning display.

At the last explosion, the lights were fully on again, and the two of them gave another curtsy to the audience. They erupted into frenzied applause toward the beautiful Kalosian girl and her charming Pokemon.

Serena gave a big smile, waving at the audience, and blowing them kisses. When the crowd began to die down, Genevia and Primarina came back onto the stage to stand next to them. Genevia nodded, and placed a hand on Serena's shoulder. "Oh wow. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that that Showcase was a definite showstopper. You are most definitely not a beginner, are you?"
