I woke up the next morning not realizing I fell asleep. I then think back to last night. I think about the kids from the foster home again. I think about April and Ally again. I remember when I first came to the foster care and met Ally. I remember how we both had a hatred for pink. She had a completely different reason for hating it then I did, but when we started middle school we would always fake gag at anyone wearing pink. It was really dumb but it was something we bonded over and enjoyed doing.  I remember the day Lukes and April started dating. April was Allys older sister, and was quite over protective of her. I remember my brother dressing up nice. He never did that so I knew he was going to meet someone special. That's why I teased him until He left. A couple minutes later I saw April walk out in a nice dress, Ally close behind. After I saw April I immediately knew what was going on. I run over to Ally and tell her and we decide to follow her sister. We see her walk u To Lukes at the park a block away from the home. We hide behind a bush and watch them. We see Lukes saying something to April but can't hear what. Then April kisses him on the cheek and they both look like smiling idiots. Me and Ally come out of hiding and start clapping. They both look at us. April hides her face in her hands and lukes glares at me. "you littles assholes, were you there this whole time. We burst into laughter. "Damn bro, I didn't know you were such a simp, you even brought her flowers" I yell. Then he chased me all the way back to the home. I snap out of my trance not noticing that I was smiling ear to ear. dinner isn't for another hour so I decide to read a book while I wait. I look over to my desk to grab a book when I notice my drawers all messed up. My papers are everywhere and the nightstand itself is ruined. "What the hell" I say quietly to myself I start picking up everything that was on the floor until I notice a zip lock bag with pictures in it. The first was of me and my crew. We all stood there saluting so the picture could be taken. The weather was scorching hot, 104 degrees. "If they don't take this picture soon we'll all die of heat stroke before serving our country" Lale said quietly, but enough for me to hear. I chuckle. "Straight Face Perez". Says the chief from behind the camera. I shift my face back to my resting bitch face. The next picture was my 8th grade yearbook photo. I was wearing a nice grey shirt with a flannel over it. My hair was tied up in a curled ponytail, with a strand loose in the front. I remember back then everyone treated picture day like such a big deal. Now kids just wear whatever they want, hoping they're parents won't get mad after looking at the yearbook. The last picture was another picture of me and Lukes on the day he died. The gun shot still rings in my head. I remember that day like it was yesterday. He was walking backwards talking to me and when I finally realized Travis was still alive, it was too late. I watched him shoot my older brother as he turned. I watched the only person who ever cared about me die. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" I yell with tears in my eyes. He didn't respond. He just got up and used the rest of his strength to run away. I ran up to my brothers dead body. "Luke!" I try and shake him awake but he doesn't. I check his pulse and he isn't breathing. I sit there and cry, and cry, and cry until I had no tears left. I sat there for 2 hours with my deceased brother. It felt like only minutes. I wipe a tear from my eye and put the pictures back where I got them I stood up and got dressed. I put on a black t-shirt with ripped jeans and some black converse shoes. I head out of my room to find the handle of my door almost melted. I guess I'll look at that when I get back. I walk for about 30 minutes until I find my destination. I walk up to the counter. "Hello there young lady how can I help you" he says in a nice voice. "I'm here to see Travis gardener"
