The warrior of protection

I wipe the tear out of my eye and look at my hands "I can't do this alone" I stand and pace around the room. I still have that demon trying to kill me and I have to stay on megan's good side. Suddenly I get an idea. "I need to find the others". That's right. The elementress, the queen of demons. They are both awake now. It should be easy to find the elementress, she is always there when there is a demon. I just need to locate the queen of demons. I rush to the library in a hurry and start scanning the shelves. "You looking for something". I look over and see one of the younger teens named Camila. She is very smart and pretty. She has curly red hair and blue eyes. "Just doing some research" I tell her. Not a lie. "What exactly are you researching and why?" she asks. I panic. What should I tell her? "I'm just bored". Hopefully she falls for that. Like I said, she is really smart. "I guess in times like these you resort to anything for entertainment". And with that she walks away. That was close. I grab a few books that might be useful and head back to my room. I start writing important information and I make a map of seven possible forests the queen of demons could be hiding in. I know she is in a forest because researchers have already determined that. It's a natural tree forest because she has never been caught by censors on the trees in a digital tree forest. Last thing I know is that it is in the state we are in, which is Ohio. I have a slight hunch that she is in the  Ohio state sci fi forest, but there isn't any solid proof. I remember when my foster parents took me and my brother to that forest. It was so fun. It was like a nature movie theatre.

I have been in my room for ages and I've found nothing. El has ended up at my door a few times with food because I skip meals. As I was reading another useless book from the library I heard three knocks on my door. I stood up to open it and was not surprised to see El in the doorway with a plate of chicken and mashed potatoes. "May I come in?" she asks. I'm in no place to deny so I step aside and watch her make her way to my desk before closing the door. She looks around. "What is all this?" she asks. "Just something I'm working on" I reply. I hope she doesn't ask me to get into detail. I'd have no idea what to say. "You've been cooped in here for 3 months, this must be important". Has it really been that long? I think about how much time has passed since then. I grab the plate El, brought and start to eat. "The adults are starting to worry about you," She said. I swallow before speaking. "Oh really" I take another bite. "Maegan's been spreading rumors" she says. My eyes widen. I have to keep my composer, or else she will suspect something. "What is she saying?" I ask. "She is telling everyone that you got so scared of the monster while on your walk that you ran to cry in your pillow, but after a month even she started to worry". I sigh, and continue eating. We sat in silence. In that silence I actually got to think clearly. I haven't really done that in awhile. El is the most trustworthy person in my life at the moment. If I ever needed help I could just ask her. I'm not alone. I always have El. I don't need to find the elementress, and the queen of demons. Not yet at least. "Maybe you should get some fresh air, let's go for a walk" El insisted while standing up. "Yea" I agree. "Lets go" I grab a sweater and we head out.
