I had fallen asleep thinking about these things. When I woke up the next morning I was confused as hell. Everything was pitch black. Not even moonlight was shining through the window. I looked at the clock to see the time to find it shut off. "What the heck" I say under my breath. I feel around my desk to find my phone and I can't find it. I sat there wondering how I could find a source of light when I remember something. There is a lighter in the top drawer of my side table. I reach down to the handle and feel around for a lighter. I find it and light it up. I look around to find vines all over the side table, crushing the clock. That's not it thought. They were all over the room. I looked and slowly walked around when a faint light shine on my door, that you couldn't even see because there were so many vines. The vines slowly started moving off the door. I opened the door and saw a scene straight from a horror movie. The hall was red blood stains on the floor in the shape of arrows. I followed them against my will. I mean my brain told me not to but my feet insisted. As I walked further down the demonic hall, I heard really old music sounding to be from the 1900s. It got louder and louder as I went down the hall. I finally saw the arrows of blood lead to a door. I approach the door and take a deep breath. I lay my shaky hand on the knob. "If I die, I die I guess". With that quote I open the door. WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THIS. There are shadows on the grounds bowing. I can only assume they are bowing to the person in this throne like chair. I light is shining on them, so bright I can see the bowing silhouettes of people. The person appears to be a girl with kinda short, really dark hair. They have a crown on their head and are looking down. They slowly look up, and I can see their red glowing eyes pierce right through me. "Welcome to hell sydney" it says with a voice filled with malice. "Who. the hell. are you" I ask. "Are you seriously not scared, I went through all this trouble to teleport you to the realm of shadow, and you still have all this confidence". What....the....fuck. Did this girl really just start whining. Her voice isn't as scary anymore but damn. "Oh well, guess that can't be helped". With a snap all the lights turn on and the shadows disappear. She takes off her crown and sets it on the throne. "You mortals really are no fun" she pouts as she crosses her arms. "You never answered my question". If I'm going to be here I'll make it known that I am not here to play games. "Oh right, my name doesn't matter but I'll let you know my purpose". She pauses for a moment to breath and get her thoughts together and then continues. "I'm a demon, lead of demons in fact" she put a smirk on her face. "Not exactly as big and bad as the devil, but he is the one who gave me the crown". She makes a gesture to her head. "Why would the devil give you a crown" I ask her. I know that there are bigger questions a hand but if i'm the warrior of protection, talking to a demon is pretty normal. "I can tell you that later, but before I do I have something to offer you". An offer, I am sure to decline but I am curious. "I'm listening" I assure. "Perfect, I am aware that someone has affected your life very much. Enough for you to look at pictures of them and weep" she said smugly. She couldn't be talking about him right. "What do you mean" I pretend to not understand just in case I'm wrong. "I think you know exactly what I mean" she puts a smirk on her face. "But, just in case... I'll show you. '' She snapped her fingers and the lights flicker out of nowhere a chain appears in her hand. I follow to where it leads and find a familiar figure looking down. "LUKES!" I shout. "Calm down, Miss jumps to conclusions, he can't talk. He is only a soul" she looks at him. "As you can tell, I'm in charge of it," she looks back to me. "I stole him from purgatory but it's all good because it's in the name of business" she grips the chain tightly and he disappears. I reach out my hand trying to grab him but I couldn't. "Don't worry about him, he just chills in a cell all day" she assures. It didn't really make me feel better. That was my brother, or his soul, left in a cell. "I know what your thinking, and it is sad that is soul has to stay here until this world forgets about his existence" she puts a fake saddened expression on her face. "But, there is a way you can set him free.'' I look her in her eyes showing no emotion. "How". "Eager aren't we" she smirks. "Well that's easy, all you have to do is give me your soul." WHAT. Out of everything I thought she would say, that one didn't cross my mind. But it should've. What's the number 1 thing demons ask for? Your soul. They don't want money, or a partner, or even a slave. If I wasn't such an idiot I could have guessed that from the start. "For reasons I shouldn't say I must decline" I say, keeping my emotionless expression. Out of everything I've learned in the army, that might be the most useful. "Huh, what a turn of events" she claps her hands on her cheeks. "One of the people who is supposed to bring peace and order back to the world, is selfish enough to let her one brother be washed away from existence" she puts her hands behind her back and steps toward me. Of course she knows I'm one of the warriors of peace she even knew my freaking name when I walked in here. "I have a job to protect everyone in this world, taking this deal is more selfish then declining" I start to raise my voice. Even if I wanted to take this deal, the voice inside my head would fight against it "You are the fallen soldier. You fight. If not for yourself, for the world". That voice is the only thing that helps me keep my composure. "Then let's put it like this. You give me your soul and I set your brother free or I hunt you down to the ends of the earth to kill you" she fights to keep the smile on her face, she is loading her patience and we just started. "I feel there is something more to this then my brother of your willing to go that far". She lets loose a small giggle. "Do you know what you'll be up against as the warrior of protection, ME! YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE ME DOWN AND TAKE MY CROWN. AND I'M NOT JUST GOING TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASY AND GIVE UP MY CROWN BECAUSE I'M THE QUEEN OF HELL DAMMIT. '' Well damn, she has the crazy eyes. This can't scare me, I fact it just grossed me out, "well, maybe say it don't spray it" I say, still my sarcastic, smart ass self. It looks like she is about to flip a table. Well at least I know her purpose talking to me. Someone in hell offered that crown as a reward if she stopped the warriors of peace. She takes a deep breath. "I'm going to tear you apart piece by piece when I find you and I'm going to prove to Satan himself that I deserve the crown" she puts her hands up like she will strangle me "oh then let me just give you my soul right now" "really" "no!" I let a laugh slip. At first I was pissed, but this is getting fun. "Ugh, your so annoying" she stomps her foot. "Then you know what, this is war, me against you and there is no way a stupid mortal will beat the queens of hell!" she steps toward me. I show my dominance by doing the same "war, it is" I stand in front of her "now let me go back to the world above and I will stare death in the face proudly if it comes to me". She smirks "deal" she shakes my hand. Flames surround out connected hands and then everything goes black. I jerked up to find myself in my bed. It is 10:00 a.m and I realize I'm late for breakfast. I honestly don't care. If this is war then I need to find the other warrior as fast as possible, or else me and the rest of them are good as gone. This is it. My job as the warrior of protection has finally begun.
