Chapter 6: An Odd Night

It was another hour or so before everyone went to bed. You just.. silently got into your little nook, pulling the curtain closed, trying to piece together everything that had happened. Legosi's genuine care for your well-being despite you two barely knowing one another.. That incident in the hall.. His willingness to keep quiet about your self-destructive tendency..

It was too much.. The way he'd read you like a book, too. He seemed to know about your.. less-than-stable past within mere minutes..

You just stayed in the darkness, your eyes adjusting quite easily. You had already shut down your phone for the night, so you couldn't just.. watch internet videos to kill time until you passed out. 

You couldn't focus.. Your mind raced.. 

A voice broke the silence.. A hushed whisper..

"..Hey.. [Y/N].." It was Legosi's voice. His snout was peeking into your little nook. "You.. mind if I.. come in..?" You sighed, moving the curtain to let him in.. There was enough space for both of you, and you both had space to sit up. 

You both sat there, the only light pouring into the dark nook being from the moon outside.. You sat there, Legosi sitting there with you in silence. You weren't sure what he was even up to. You could just see his eyes.. in the darkness.. Eyes like a Komodo Dragon. He stared at you in silence. You were tired. You hoped he would just make his intentions clear so he could go back to his bed and you could go to sleep.

Instead, Legosi approached you, getting closer.. Closer.. Your snouts were inches from touching. Again.. Just like in the hallway.. However, he paused, staring at you once more, before turning away. "S-sorry." let out Legosi quietly, before he left your little nook and went back to his own. After that, you closed the curtain, and laid down. 

You were so tired..

You finally drifted off to sleep..

However, you were jolted awake by.. a scream? It sounded like a scream, but it was cut off the second you woke up. Maybe it'd just been part of a dream? 

You grumbled a bit, peeking out of your little nook. It was still the middle of the night. Everyone was sleeping. Even Legosi.. You could hear him.. 

His little snore was kind of cute.. 

You shut the curtain again, lying there, silent. 

You could hear Legosi's breathing.. He had power to his body, alright.. 

You laid on your back, looking up at the ceiling of your little nook. You couldn't just.. let your mind rest for too long. A thought always drifted through your mind the moment you got comfortable, and it always made you feel.. uncomfortable. 

Fuck it. 

You laid there on your back, trying your best to fall asleep.

Wait.. Don't try to fall asleep.. Don't try to.. fall asleep.

Suddenly, you heard the sounds of morning.. A bird tweeting outside..

An alarm clock went off..

Fuck..

Are you kidding?! You got, like, no sleep! At all! Damn it!
