*Gray*

My heart raced. I attempted to clear my mind, and ease my breath. A flash of silver zipped past and suddenly I was trapped in a circle of silver. I balled my fists and took fighters stance. The wind whipped around me and the sky thundered dangerously. Tufts of lightning struck everywhere the silver had been.

Sticking out my hand, I caught a handful of brown hair.
"Gotcha!" I said triumphantly. In my hand was a handful of my annoying younger sisters hair. She kicked in my strong arms. "Stop it! Ouch! Let me go Gray!" She roared. I shook my head. "Not until you apologize for spoiling Wonder Woman. You know I haven't seen it yet. Not cool!"

She groaned. "I'm so very sorry!" She said sarcastically. "By the way, did you know that the guy Wonder Woman's smitten with dies?"

I grabbed her hair tighter. "Fine. I will kill you then."

Just as I was about to strike her, mom marched out of the house. "What do you two think you're doing? You can't you two argue like regular siblings?" She asked, reaching out and tearing London's hair from my hand." London rubbed and back of her hair and glared at me. In a act of repulsion, she attempted to choke me but mom was not kidding.

Her eyes turned a bright blue and the ground shook. "What. Did. I. Say?"

We watched her tremble. "Stop," London said gulping. "Right. So do that. Or there will be terrible repercussions."

She proceeded to stomp into the house and start arguing with dad.
Dad's turn to stomp out of the house came and he pointed to the house. "Who shone light in the sleeping dragon's eye?" London looked away and I pointed to her. Her mouth went agape. "It wasn't just me!"

I shrugged but dad looked unamused. "Stop fighting. I don't know what just happened, but can't you tell how upset your mother is right now? I've never seen her get so angry over something so insignificant."

I nodded. "A good point that is."

From the inside of the house, I heard mom scream. London and dad zipped to the house, leaving me to run.
On the television, deadly words were spiraling. "...Hiram Lodge-Parker. The police are ruling this shooting a hate crime, with words written in his blood on the nearest wall, Death To The Parker-Lodges. Mary, back to you," the anchor-woman reported. Tears seeped down moms face and in one shaky move, she was calling Uncle Peter.

"Peter. Peter, daddy... daddy..." moms words were cut off by the sound of her own sobbing. Dad wrapped his arms around her shoulders and told us to tell Uncle Peter what happened. Wrestling the phone out of moms hand, I raised the phone to my ear.

"Uncle Peter? Granddaddy Hiram got shot." I said as I snuck away to the kitchen. "What? Again?" Uncle Peter said with exasperation. "Yes but... there's more. They're ruling this a hate crime. To all of us Lodges. Just, watch your back."

There was silence for a moment. "Hey, Gray. I have an idea. I think that maybe... maybe you and mom and sister and stuff could come stay with us. You know, because I have the gift of sense."

I nodded, though I knew he couldn't see it. "I'll talk to mom about it. Thanks Uncle Pete."

"Anytime nephew."

I hung up the phone and set it lightly on the table, thinking about my Uncle's words. "You're not gonna tell mom, are you?"
London asked from the doorway. "Tell her what?"

London rolled her eyes and my heart pounded.

"What Unc said?"

I looked at her grimly. "He didn't say anything."

London rolled her eyes. "Then why do you look like I just punched you in the face?" Gray shrugged and London twittered off to comfort mom.

Gray felt relief. Gray wouldn't tell a soul what his uncle said.

They could handle it on their own.
