Authors note:
I have not been on here in a while. I moved to a new school that proved to be quite stressful. No excuse but now that I have no reason but to write seeing as there is a pandemic after all. Stay safe and enjoy.

*Azelia*

I sat on the couch watching tv to pass the time. Gray sat next to me, crunching away on some chips. Matthew and London were running around, flinging one another with webs and zipping around. I rolled me eyes and Gray just brooded. I flipped to the news channel, watching words spiral along the screen. The reporter stood in front of a crime scene, paramedics zipping back and forth.

"Hiram Lodge-Parker was shot here, just 48 hours ago. A threat was spray painted against another wall following the shooting:"

The camera cut to the wall behind her. "Watch your back, Peter Lodge-Parker." Gray looked up at the screen with a worried expression. I looked at Gray and we simultaneously stood up. I spotted my computer sitting on the table across the room. My parents were still gone. Gray and I ran across the room. I flipped open the computer and quickly typed in my password.

I googled Peter Lodge-Parker address. My dad's address was posted for everybody to see on the internet. I looked at Gray with wide eyes.
"Who would want to kill your dad?" He asked.
I racked my brain. I had no idea who hated my dad that much to-
"Grammy."

Gray shook his head. "Grammy? You mean your Grandma Alice?"

I shook my head. " She is not my Grandma. She is my mom's mom. That's all she is to me. " Gray shook his head. "Why?"

"She didn't accept Gray. Or my Dad. So I don't accept her." Gray didn't seem to understand. "Then why-" Matthew and London shuffled over grinning like lunatics. "Hey guys!" Matthew said. "What?" Gray snapped. "Hey. Don't be a jerk, Gray." London taunted.

"Enough, guys. We've got an issue." Matthew's face grew serious. "What's going on?" I explained the situation. "Somebody is out to kill Dad. And I think I know who it is." Gray and Matthew exchanged a look. "Oh," London said.

Somebody pounded at the door. We all jumped a bit. Gray took a bit of a defensive stand and the ground trembled a bit. But Gray's face said that it wasn't him. "DUCK!" Matthew screamed and we dived just in time for the door to burst open. London got hit with a shard of shrapnel and screamed, holding her thigh. Matthew leapt over me to tend to her. Blood seeped through her jeans. I stood up in a daze and dizzily sauntered to the room my parents were in. How hadn't they heard the explosions? My parents were arguing, my Grandpa Hiram was snapping at my parents and it was all SO hectic.

"They... explosion-" I collapsed into my father's arms.

*Matthew*

I tended to London's wounded thigh while Gray did the busy work. As I torn her pant leg with a switchblade that'd fallen from Gray's pocket, around Gray the ground trembled, this time him, and a fist of concrete materialized from a nearby wall. A person in a black suit climbed in and walked over the debris. Gray raised his fist and the fist of concrete imitated him.

Dad was the first person to stumble in  the room. Azelia laid in between Mom's arms. I turned to London. "London? I'm gonna do something okay? It's gonna burn. Is that alright?" She shook her head. "It's gonna stabilize you." She looked away. She bit her lip and she nodded and took a deep breath. She knew what I had to do.

Taking a deep breath myself, I prepared her for a web shot. She closed her eyes. In all the chaos, I saw Gray in the corner of my eye fighting this person with his concrete fist, his mother at his side. They fed off of one another, and took turns hitting critical shots. I hit London with a hot web.

She screamed in pain, gripping her leg and breathing heavily. I was afraid she'd pass out from the pain. Her breathing slowly slowed and she looked a me and let out one last blood curdling scream. She grunted and pounded the ground. The worst would be over soon though. The wound would heal quickly and the web would stop the bleeding.

Dad was looking at me expectantly. I looked back with a confused expression. He flicked his eyes to the fight.
You do it I mouthed.
It's time he mouthed back.

Looking back at London who was getting better I stood. I created a huge ball of web and threw it straight at the attacker. They were holding up surprisingly well. Something about that suit... no matter how great of a power my Aunt and Cousin had, the power of the attacker was even greater. The attacker hit the ground, the suit sizzling. Gray saw his chance. He summoned the fist to hold the attacker down, so basically a person was being held under an incredibly large concrete fist.

Aunt V walked over to my Mom. "B? Why didn't you do anything? We needed you there." Mom looked at her. She looked down at Azelia in her arms, passed clean out. She looked back at her. "My child is under some type of... spell or something. She won't wake up. I've been mind communicating with her. She says she can't wake up.

I walked over to Dad. "Dad. Before we were attacked, we saw on the news... they're coming after you. They're coming after all of us. But you're next."

He and Mom exchanged a look. Mom's face looked surprised for a moment and then she shook her head. Dad nodded and glanced at me. Mom's eyes lowered and she looked at Aunt V and Uncle Trevor.

I forgot Uncle Trevor was here. They seemed to have a mutual understanding.
Dad keeled down to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Matt."
"Dad?"
Dad looked back at Azelia and lowered his eyes. "Matt. You and London and Gray. You have to um, you have to get away from Mom and Dad for a while."

I shook my head. "Dad what?" "We knew it would come to this. We were selfish to keep you with us. Now you're in danger. You, Azelia, London, and Gray are gonna go far far away from us. We need to know you'll be safe.

"I want you to take care of your sister. I know she's older but she needs you. And you need her."

"Dad, where are we going? I don't understand-" "We can't tell you where you're going because we don't know where you're going. We're sending you some random place in the world. If we don't know, nobody else will."
Tears filled my eyes. "Daddy...we'll be fine. Together. As a family. Please don't make us go." Gray came up behind me. To my surprise a tear fell down his face. Uncle Trevor looked absolutely crushed. "Hey, kid. It'll be all right okay? Listen to your sister."

London was the last to skimper over. "Daddy? But.. you had so much to teach me." Trevor shook his head violently. "I know, kid. I know.

I shrugged out of my Dad's hold. "No. No! This is crazy. How will we survive? When are we leaving? Where will we stay?"
"Matthew-"
"No! I'm only 10! London is 15! Azelia is 15! Gray is 14! We're all kids! Not even 16 yet. We can't survive out there!"

Mom walked over to me. "Hey. You're stressed, I know babe. We've got all that taken care of." I let my tears fall. "Mama. I don't want to go. Don't let me leave. Protest, please!" I begged. She shook her head. "I already tried baby. I already tried."

"When do we leave?" Mom stepped back. She placed Azelia on the floor next to us. "Sit down kids." She ordered. We sat. "You leave right now. We love you."

"No!" I screamed, and a purple cloud billowed around us.

*Betty*

And they were gone.
