CHAPTER 27: True friend
“No, don’t do it.” I yelled out, trying to get his hand away from my head.
“I have to Cupcake or it’ll leave a big bump on your pretty head.” Ryan chuckled lightly as he pressed the ice pack again on my head where the pole dropped.
“It’s paining.” I screamed, moving my legs hysterically.
Ryan grabbed both my legs by their ankles and spoke, “Stay still. Don’t annoy me.”
“No one can annoy the annoying one.” I commented teasingly, looking at him as my head was placed on his lap.
“Psst, I’m not annoying.” he snorted, pressuring the ice pack on my head again, making me flinch a little.
“Truth can never be hidden, my friend.” I stated, enjoying the annoyed look on his face.
But I guess it was a mistake to annoy him as he pressed the ice pack with much force this time.
I groaned with pain and commented, “You’re so mean.”
He didn’t reply to that as he must have enough of my rants and insults till then. I was quite a blunt person with him and it was clear from that look on his face that he was pissed off.
I raised my head a little and gave him a soft peck on the lips. Parting away, I gave him the sweetest smile I could manage. A grin plastered on his face and he kissed me again, with much passion than I did.
His lips were so soft and tempting that I couldn’t stop myself either. Who could? It’s Ryan we’re talking about!
A knock on the door interrupted us. Ryan placed my head on the couch and spoke,”I’ll get it.”
I looked at the ceiling and giggled to myself. The feeling was back, the feeling which I used to get when we were together. The kisses, the fights, the cheesiness, it all seemed to be coming back in my life.
I would be long lost in my dreamland but what I heard made me to come back to reality.
“Jade’s here, right?” Dillan spoke in a firm voice. I looked in the direction of the door where the two ‘gentlemen’ were standing. Dillan and Ryan together? Wasn’t a good idea!
But then last night’s event flashed back in my head.
I was helpless and cold and what he did was talk nonsense with me? And that too drunk nonsense? Like I had said last night as well, you were so gone brother.
I got up from the couch and grabbed the ice pack. Clenching my jaw and stabbing my nails on the pack with anger, I looked at Dillan. He looked at me as well and smiled with relief.
“There you are.” he smiled, gesturing me to come outside.
I walked over to him and asked, “Where were you last night?”
He looked at me with confusion and spoke,”What?”
“I asked where were you.” I repeated, the ice pack still in my hand.
It was like realization flashed from his face. His hand went to scratch his head, his expression shifting from confused to that of acknowledgement.
“Did I do something to you too?” he asked, adding a nervous chuckle at the end. My head shook with disbelief. So he caused troubles for others as well? Brilliant!
“So, you’re Leonardo?” I asked all of a sudden, crossing my arms, remembering all the things he said to me last night on the phone.
“You see everything blue huh?” I spoke in the same tone as before.
I took a step closer to him. He blinked his eye and took a step away, saying,”Seriously Jade, I have no idea what you’re talking about so stop speaking things I don’t remember.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. We stared at each other for a while but then I did something which was the result of my anger at him.
