Ten days and no update? Whoa, I’m making new records! XD
CHAPTER 23: Home sweet home
I rushed out of the car and toward my car when Ryan called out,”You can take the car, Jade. No need to walk your way home.”
Without even turning around, I answered,”You keep your stupid car.”
His silence toward everything was making me sick. If you wanted me to trust him again, then he needed to speak something out of that mouth.
I rang the bell as I reached home with my bags and waited patiently, excited to see dad and Sage again. Sage was going to come home as well and it made the whole situation a lot more exciting as I would meet her after such a long time.
A few minutes passed but nobody opened the door, I was losing my patience already. I impatiently tapped my feet on the ground, keeping myself composed.
As I was standing there, my mind began to wander around to everything that happened a few hours ago. The moment we began to talk, it felt like everything was getting like it was before but then again, was it even possible? Never.
At one moment, all I wanted to do was be around Ryan and have a good time but then then other moment, all I wanted to do was to rip his head off.
Was this relationship so complicated and that guy so tough to understand?
After waiting for another ten minutes, I began to scream,”Dad, open the door.”
But to my surprise, no reply came. Not even a single word.
Neither Dad or Sage were picking up their phones and that got me worried. What if something devastating happened inside that closed door?
My face got probably got red due to a little panic attack I had after creating the worst scenarios in my head. I banged my fists on the door and shouted, “Dad, Sage? Are you guys in there?”
I ran to the backdoor and took a sigh of relief as I discovered that it was opened. I looked around the house; everything seemed normal, nothing was out of place or nothing suspicious was visible yet.
Just then, a faint sound got my attention, it was coming from the first second floor. Keeping every step carefully and silently, I walked my way towards the source of the sound, which resulted in taking me in front of a closed door. As long as I remember, when I left home, this room was kept for the guests, what could be happening inside it?
I placed my hand on the knob slowly, and then carefully opened the door and that was when the blasting sound of Smoke on the water filled my ears, making me to close my eyes and cover my ears. The volume was too much to tolerate.
I finally dared to open my eyes and was shocked to see what was in front of me. Dad was wearing a big wig on his head and was playing an air guitar, whereas Sage was looking just as wild as dad.
“What are you doing?” I asked but it was probably not audible for my two ‘rock stars’.
“What the hell are you guys doing?” I screamed at the top of my lungs, making Sage to turn her head toward my direction. A big smile appeared on her face, she dropped the guitar on the couch an rushed to me.
“Jadie.” she spoke as she came near to me.
“What is happening, Sage?” I asked, feeling uncomfortable with the loud music erupting from the speakers.
“We were playing guitar hero, but without an actually guitar.” she said.
My eyes closed with frustration and spoke, “Can you turn it off please?”
