CHAPTER 16. Couldn’t get enough
The evening was chilly just like the afternoon as it rained for a while. Light breezes were flowing and the atmosphere was silent. The streets had the present of only a few people who might be there to enjoy their Friday evening.
The street we were passing through was new to me; I had discovered a very little part of the beautiful city but I was surprised that I missed this particular place. It was just so peaceful and reminded me of home.
The distant voice of the shop’s bells ringing was such a great sound to listen to. The path was surrounded by small shops; the roofs of all the shops were connected by light fairy lights, making the scene even more beautiful.
To be honest, this was one of the most beautiful and warm place you could ever find in a city.
“This place is amazing, how did you find it?” I asked Ian while we were walking our way to the café he told me about.
He shrugged his shoulders while looking down at the ground and spoke,”I don’t know. I was feeling very home sick one day so I was roaming aimlessly and what I didn’t realize that I walked quite away from the main city and that’s when I found this place.”
“Wow, that sounds so filmy.” I chuckled, followed by Ian.
“But seriously, this place is beautiful. Thanks for bringing me here.” I said, looking in his direction.
He raised his head toward me from the ground and spoke, “My pleasure.”
I smiled at him and looked away to examine the surrounding shops. Most of them were related to food and flowers.
I fixed my scarf and took a deep breath. The chilliness was increasing as the night was coming on its way. I was feeling a lot better than the morning but I still looked like crap with dark circles and no matter how hard I tried to cover them up with makeup, they such pop up again.
Ryan’s response to Ian’s phone call sure grabbed my attention. He never used to believe this way, he was never the jealous types, even when we were dating so I knew there was something else that was disturbing him and not the fact that I was going somewhere with Ian.
Only God knows what goes in that head of that Devil
“So, how far is the café?” I asked, listening to our footsteps on the wet ground.
“Just a few shops away.”
“It’s good that we decided to walk instead of coming here from a car. It wouldn’t be so much fun then.” I stated.
“True but you would be tired by the time we get back.” he said politely.
“Nah, this place is worth the struggles.”
We reached the café after a few minutes. Ian walked to the door and kept it opened for me to walk in.
“After you.” he said in his thick British accent and I giggled like a little girl and entered in after thanking him.
There was something about British accent that was so fucking attractive that you couldn’t help but act like a fangirl when someone speaks in one.
“What happened?” Ian chuckled, following me to the table.
“Nothing.” I giggled again and sat down opposite to him.
”It’s a self-service café so I’ll go and order, what do you want?” Ian asked, getting up from his seat.
“I’ll come with you.”
We stood in front of the counter and looked at the menu on the wall.
There was a huge list of the different types of coffees and other beverages, along with some snacks.
“I’ll get a donut and frappe, you?” I asked Ian cheerfully, leaning to the counter.
“I’ll get the same then.” he said and called the attendant to give our orders. After ordering, we went back to sit at our table.
“So, how’s college going?” Ian asked, getting comfortable on this seat. There was a big glass window adjacent to our table and we could enjoy the pleasant scene as well.
“It’s going good luckily. Less scary that I thought.” I joked.
Ian chuckled and spoke,”Why did you think it would be scary?”
“You know, new place, new people, the word ‘new’ can be very frightening sometimes.” I chuckled at my own words, followed by Ian.
