Heatwaves (Katsuki Bakugo x Reader)

Chapter 4 | Keep your head in the game

Everyone who's not on the fighting teams of the current round are confined to an observation deck. Here you can all follow the actions on monitors with live feeds to the battle. Bakugou and Izuku teams are first up and you secure a spot in front with Momo on your side. You have come up with a plan based on what she could inform on the quirks of the opposing team and her own. Agreeing you decided to scout out the first match to adapt the plan to the battle environment as well. Plus you really want to see all your classmates quirks in action. Especially the furious boy have you intrigued.

Bakugou and Tenya show up on the monitors as they go into the building to set up their defense. Unfortunately there is no sound from the scene all you have to go on is reading their posture and a bit of their mouth movements.

Tenya is obviously trying to communicate while Bakugou is ignoring him. Finally the hothead opens his mouth and you read. "Just do you f****** job and protect the bomb. I'll do the rest!" They both enter the room with the bomb and from what you can tell they start to talk about Izuku. Bakugou then takes off leaving Tenya with guard duty of the explosive device.

What is this guys game plan.

You're trying to make up your mind on what the boy is getting at. He seemed so focused and excited just moments ago. There must be some intense history between him and Izuku to merit this kind of behaviour. Nevertheless the fight should be interesting to watch. Bakugous quirk in particular has your curiosity peaked. What kind of power can make someone so confident and full of themselves.

The tall boy is moving around the room where they placed the bomb. He seems to be moving all objects to a different location. Making you think he is trying to make the environment either better for his quirk or less suitable for the hero team. Your thoughts are interrupted as the number one hero bellows.

"BEGIN!"

Midoriya is the first from the hero team to enter the building followed by the bubbly girl. They make their way down an empty hallway and are immediately attacked by Katsuki. An explosion fills one of the screens. You instantly realize what the hot head meant when he said you had no idea.

Explosions huh Bakugou. Interesting.

No wonder he is to intense and confident. He obviously has great control of the explosion and his drive for the battle shines through as he again becomes visible on the screen. Walking tall towards the two heroes he leaps for his childhood friend in a calculated frenzy.

Izuku is protecting the girl while holding his ground in melee combat with the explosive boy. He is reading Katsuki like an open book and catches his right hook slamming the explosion boy into the floor. Everything else about Bakugou appears so planned so why would he go for such an obvious attack. This makes you think that the boy is most confident in his power and not in his normal physical ability to fight. Midoriya landed the slam perfectly without showing his quirk in any sense. Know this, might just give you the upper hand if you ever have to face off against him in the future. Also noting to yourself that there might be more to the happy go lucky green boy as well. The look Katsuki is flashing as he gets to his feet again is livid and full of menace. The fear in Izuku is painfully obvious but he swallows it he as he yells out to the girl.

Uraraka leaves on Dekus orders and makes her way towards the bomb. You see her run off on some of the other screens and dismiss her for now getting back to the fight. So much pent up anger is radiating in the small space as the two boys slam at each other. It can only be a matter of time before the scared Izuku shows what he is made of.

This is odd. Bakugou seems to be going full force. What is Midoriya waiting for?

Deku has escaped the fight for now and is practically crawling away on the floor. Seemingly unhurt but trying to figure out the best course of action he decides on hiding from a stalking very angry Bakugou. The flaming boy is reveling in the chase calling out taunts you fortunately cannot hear. Ever confident and on top of the fight.
