XXVIII

"Well at least you got out of there alive." Courtney says as Liz steps through the back door.

"You can thank Caleb for that." Liz says while pointing behind her at Caleb.

"Hey wait we know you! We graduated with you your name's Caleb Elkins!" Michelle says.

"Yep that's me." Caleb says while doing finger guns at Michelle and Courtney. "Nice to see you Witty Willis you too Court Court. Well I better get going I got a cat at home who is just waiting for a cuddle session." He walks out the back door and drives off.

"Never would have known he is a master thief." Courtney says.

About that time the side door opens and Haley walks in carrying a suitcase and wearing a blue dog collar with a name tag.

"Oh Haley you're back!" Michelle exclaims.

"What's with the dog collar?" Liz asks.

Haley sets her suitcase down. "Courtney sent it to me in the mail along with a letter that said Liz made the collar and that it would help me control my transformations better."

Liz looks at Haley with a puzzled look. "Umm I didn't make anything like that."

Courtney starts busting out laughing until she's crying. Finally she stops laughing long enough to speak "Oh my gosh I can't believe she fell for it! Wait don't tell me...you ate those dog treats I sent too didn't you?!"

Haley looks down embarrassed.

Courtney continues to laugh uncontrollably.

Suddenly Haley changes into her werewolf form and lunges straight for Courtney. Courtney barely has time to get out of the way and get to her feet. Then for the next few minutes Haley chases Courtney around the lair until finally Courtney climbs the wall and clings onto one the ceiling lights hanging overhead.

"Aww is the puppy mad?" Courtney mocks from up above.

"Haley calm down." Michelle says.

"But she made me think I needed that collar!" Haley says angrily.

"Look don't listen to her we all know she's an idiot." Michelle says with a small laugh.

"Hey I'm not an idiot!" Courtney protests from the light.

"Oh yeah I should get you down." Michelle flies up to where Courtney is and pulls her off of the ceiling light she then lands close to Haley.

"Whoah you can fly now? That's new." Haley says while changing back to her human form.

"Yep I learned a new trick lately." Michelle replies.

"So how did it go with the other werewolves?" Liz asks breaking the tension between Haley and Courtney.

"Oh it was fun! I got to meet all kinds of werewolves! I learned how to control my form changes, I learned how to fight, I learned how to track and use my keen sense of smell, oh and my favorite part!" Haley stops and suddenly she's changed into a brown dog. She quickly changes back and gives an excited tail wag "Isn't that cool?!"

"Umm you still have your dog tail." Courtney points out.

"Oh sorry! When I get excited sometimes my tail just kind of..." Haley's tail vanishes and she continues "Heh sorry..."

"So before we go any farther we need to get Haley back up to speed." Liz says. She then quickly explains what has happened since Haley left up to the part about the three bosses terrorizing different places in New York City.

"Wow...I've missed a lot." Haley pauses "But now there are three people who want to kill us?!"

"Well technically there's three main bosses and a whole organization...but yes mainly three." Liz replies.

"Dang..." Haley mumbles.

Liz pulls up a map on her computer "Speedball and his gang are going to be the first opponent. He's going to be causing havoc in Times Square tomorrow at 10:30. Michelle and Haley will be taking point-"

"Wait hold on where do I come in in this mission?" Courtney asks suspiciously.

Liz sighs and rolls her eyes "You're going to be in the spy van with me."

"What why?!" Courtney protests.

"For one thing your behavior lately has been questionable, plus the damage you did to my car when you drove through Alpha's warehouse does not stack up well for you I'm afraid. You've left me no choice but to babysit you tomorrow." Liz replies sternly.

"What?! That's complete and total crap! I should be out fighting with Haley and Michelle tomorrow against Speedball!!" Courtney rants angrily.

"And maybe you will if you can behave tomorrow." Liz replies unflinchingly.

Courtney crosses her arms and slouches in her chair. "Hmph this is a load of barnacles." She mumbles.
