I was trying to ignore Parth from last week when I got to know about his feelings for me. I wanted him to be away from me as I am not good enough for him. I wanted him to be happy. And I can’t make him happy. He will always get pain, if he is with me. So, it’s good for both of us if we stay away from each other.

I got a call from Palash bhai. I know he must be tensed for me and I tried sounding cheerful on the call with him.

N (faking cheerfulness) : Hello Palash bhai. How are you?

Pa (sternly) : Hi, Niti. I want to talk to you. Are you free now?

N : Yea, I'm free. What happened? Everything alright?

Pa (sternly) : Meet me now at Bombay Adda.

Saying this Palash bhai cut the call. I got ready as soon as possible and left for Bombay Adda to meet him. He was sounding really serious. I entered and saw bhai already sitting there waiting for me. I went to him and greeted him. He seemed to be angry at something. I have never seen him so angry. The matter must be really serious.

He asked me to sit and I sat in front of him.

N : What happened bhai?

Pa : What are you doing Niti?

N (confused) : What am I doing bhai?

Pa (sternly): You are ignoring Parth. May I know the reason?

N (looking at other side) : Who told you this? It’s nothing like that . It’s just that I am a little messed up this time that’s why…

Pa (shouted): Oh, just shut up. Stop lying for God's sake. Do you think we are blind or mad to see what’s happening between you two?

N : OH….. OH…

Pa : Everything was ok. You were ok. Everything was fine between you two. Then what happened after the outing that you are behaving like this?

N : Everything is messed up around me. I don’t know how to get out of all this.

Pa (softly) : You are our family, Niti. Share your problems with us. You can’t always fight alone.

N (in a low voice which barely audible) : Parth loves me.

Pa (shocked but composed) : So?

N (turned towards him with a shocked expression) : You knew?

Pa : Everyone knew the way he behaved around you. Only you didn’t notice. Is it the reason you are ignoring him? Most importantly who told you this?
He was not going to say this to you anytime soon. Then?
