Jeffrey's POV

*The next day....

I left work early just to clear my mind. The whole situation with the girl, left me worried. Is she alright? I don't know but I need to know. I walked into am local coffee shop and saw her. Her red hair, her glasses, her freckled face and her petit but cute body. I checked my bag to see if I still had her book. Bingo. I walked over to her and stared.

"Echo Marana?" I questioned. She looked up at me and smiled faintly.

"Y-yes?" She stuttered. I took out her book and handed it to her.

"My math book......y-you found it," she replied taking the book with shaking hands. When she reached up her sleeve slipped down. I saw slices and cuts on both of her wrists. On her face was bruises and swellings.

"Um....yeah I guess I did. I believe you dropped this while you ran down the street and didn't notice." She took the book and rolled her sleeve back up. She was studying for a something but I didn't know what. I took a seat beside her and ordered some coffee.

Just as I was about to ask her if she wanted some, the same guy from before walked in. He looked at Echo and grinned. He grabbed her up by the hand and pulled her hair roughly.

"I told you I wanted you home by 6, do you ever listen!?" He growled at her. Small tears formed in her eyes and rolled down her cheek.

"Fool, don't cry, your making me look bad in front of all these women," he said checking a girl out. He let go of Echo's hair and walked over to the other lady. Echo walked out of the shop grabbing all her stuff.....crying. I hate seeing girls sad, especially my sister. I followed her out of the store.

"Echo, is there something wrong?" I ask. She stepped back.

"Stay away from me.......you have no idea what your getting yourself into," she whispered and ran. Why does that always happen!?

To be continued.......

Sorry for the short chapter, ran out of ideas. Comment please, I haven't seen any since.
