Not Again

Tom's POV ~

This can't be happening.

I watched on as LongBow and Longshot desperately tried to bring Netty back to life. I didn't try and help, I knew I would just get in the way, instead I just stood there and cried. I heard Alexander begin to cry at the loud noises and I rushed over and picked him up. Longbow pulled me out of the room and slammed the door. I turned and saw Squid and Salem standing there with worried looks on there faces. I was crying hard as I sat down on a chair cradling Baby Alex in my arms. Alex's cries turned into little whimpers and I passed him over to Squid who seemed just a distressed as I was. Stampy walked into the front door of the hospital, he was crying too. He didn't want to loose Netty again either.

Stampy walked over to me with tears running down his face. He looked at Alexander and smiled but then turned back to me. I was still crying hard. He held out his arms for a hug and I graciously took it. Stampy and I had worked past our differences since Netty died the first time, we realised we had to care about her, not about ourselves.

I saw Longbow walked out of the room. He was sweating and breathing heavily. I turned to him and looked him straight in the eyes.

A tear flowed down his cheek.

He shook his head.

No. Not Again. Not After All This!

I cried loudly. No, how!? why does the universe hate us?! I began kicking the hospital wall until there was a hole through it. I don't think the doctors cared though, everyone knew how much pain I was in.

I remember the respawn. I turned to Stampy.

" Run as fast as you can, don't stop, she needs you now, more than ever " stampy said still crying.

I nodded.

" I'll look after Alex, go now! " Squid yelled.

I sprinted out the front door as down the road. Nobody was stoping me from being with her. I was still crying but I wiped the tears away from my eyes. This wasn't a time for grief. I felt my chest begin to hurt as I ran past stampy's massive house. I kept going until I saw the spawn point of stampy's lovely world.

Netty was standing there. As beautiful as ever. She looked amazing.

I ran straight over to her even though she looked confused. Instead of asking her questions like the first time I just kissed her. That's how she remembered everything when I kissed her the first time after she died so it may just work.

She flinched in surprise when I kissed her but she relaxed immediately. She didn't pull away, I didn't want to either. If she wasn't going to remember this was my last chance to kiss her.

When I eventually did pull away she was standing with her body pressed against mine. Stampy and Squid were standing near us watching

" Netty... do you know who I am? " I asked cautiously.

" Uh...i don't.." she mumbled.

My heart broke into a million tiny pieces. Shattered in a instant. How could this happen again!

I pecked her on the lips quickly before stepping backwards.

" Netty I know you have no idea who I am or what's happening but I have to say something " I sobbed " I love you so much and I want you to stay strong and keep going with your life. If you end up regaining your memory of me, I'll be right there to love you again, but stay strong and don't let anyone bring you down until then, "

A single tear ran down her face as she clutched her locket.

" I will " she smiled. " have you seen stampy? "

I stepped back and walked towards stampy who was now holding little Alex. I took him out of his hands and cuddled him.

" Don't tell her we're married, or about Alex, I don't want her to feel guilty like last time " I whispered to Stampy and Squid.

" Are you sure? " Squid asked.

" Look after her, until she remembers....if she ever does " I replied.

" We will Tom " stampy smiled. I walked away with Alex crying again. I couldn't calm down.

I sat down beneath the same oak tree as I did the first time Netty passed away, this time, with my son Alex in my arms.

" Hey little man " I sobbed to Alex as he looked up at me with his big blue eyes " something happened to your mummy today, I'm going to look after you from now on, until she gets better "

Alex just made a few baby noises before falling asleep in my arms. I cried and cried for hours on end. I was happy that I had Alex but grieving for Netty. I felt someone put there hand on my shoulder. I turned my head and saw Sqaishey sitting beside me, she was crying too.

Sqaishey was Netty's best friend. It wasn't easy on her. Sqaishey was even netty's maid of honour in our wedding, which now, seemed worthless to me.

" We'll get her back " Sqaishey sobbed " I'm so sorry Tom, I can't imagine how you feel "

" Can you hold Alex for a minute? my arms are cramping up " I cried. She nodded and I passed Alex to her. She smiled as he looked at him. Sqaishey was amazing with babies, she had her own 1 month old after all.

" I'll take Alex home and look after him for you just for the night " Sqaishey explained " you go stay with squid and Salem, you need rest. "

" Are you sure Sqaishey? " I asked.

" I think stampy and I can handle Little Alex for one night " she laughed. I smirked a little, it was true.

I listened to Sqaishey and walked back to Squid's house but on the way I saw Stampy and Squid walking along the path talking to Netty. I cried when i saw her. I watched as she said something to stampy and Squid and then they stopped.

Netty ran straight over to me.

" I don't know why I'm doing this or who you are but thankyou " she whispered.

Suddenly she kissed me. For no reason at all. I felt something relight inside of me.

Hope.

" Thankyou for what? " I asked as she pulled away.

" I don't know....but whatever it is, I mean it " she replied.

She smiled and I took her hand. I kissed her on the cheek and she ran away. Just before I walked into Squid and Salem's house stampy turned around and looked at me. He mouthed the words ' did she remember? ' at me. I shook my hand and his face dropped.

I can't believe I lost her again.
