"This means nothing, probably." The Chief Superintendent shrugs, studying the evidence being set before him

"You mean to tell me that the fact that we can't find the last person to see him alive means nothing?!" Lucas hisses at the man he'd once referred to as a bootleg Sherlock Holmes

" As for the footage, which is what I was talking about, I mean that she used to work for him and they bumped into each other. She has no reason to contact any of you, you fired her so maybe you're the last group of people she'd like to see. " Callum says, calmer than the three men glaring at him

"She gave him a note." Lachlan points out tersely

"That didn't drug him or burn him alive. It is also very clear that they head in different directions after their meeting. He left her when he was alive and well...and how exactly did you come into possession of this footage?" Callum wonders at the three men staring daggers at him

What was he supposed to do? Arrest anyone who saw Dionysius Plutarch that day? Surely they were asking a lot of him.

Sao grumbles under his breath. They were running out of time. Makenna, Ephy and Seneca would be home any moment from her therapy session and they simply couldn't risk her finding out Lucas, Lachlan and the superintendent were all here. It's left to Sao to stop the standoff between them.

"I have it on good authority that she had a hand in delivering the divorce papers for the divorce Makenna didn't file. I know there's a chance that she's innocent, that she just bumped into him, but if whoever is behind this used her to deliver fraudulent divorce papers and information that endangered Dio, wouldn't interviewing her to see what she knows be the right thing to do?" Sao offers

He didn't have it in him to bring up that Myrtle wasn't her real name. He'd thought about it all of last night after updating Lucas and Lachlan on the Bunny's findings. If he told the superintendent about her previous disappearance then that might colour how the story goes in the press, and if it showed up in the press that she was a suspect then she might not bring herself to be interrogated, she might even harm Dio. It was safer for her to be called in as a possible witness, as an expert on Dio's life so to speak. She would go on to incriminate herself, probably, or him, or whoever was behind this.

"Fine." Callum finally says, still curious about their insistence on this one witness

"Fine. I'll have her brought in for questioning."

Maybe Plutarch had said something to her before his disappearance that would easier explain why his entire friend group had rallied behind his wife, the murder suspect. There just might be something to investigate about this group of wealthy friends none-too affected by his murder. Myrtle Robson was close enough to Plutarch to know something.

"That's all we're asking, thank you." Sao says as calmly as he could, pulling Lucas back from the superintendent.

Lachlan jumps out of his seat and bursts out of the room before his frustrations get the best of him. It shouldn't have taken that much to convince an investigator to investigate!

"What the fuck is his deal?" Lucas grumbles, equally as perplexed by Callum's resistance to investigating

"I'm not sure he's very good at his job." Lachlan sighs, turning to Sao, who simply nods

"As long as he questions Myrtle and she tells him what that exchange was about..." Sao shrugs, texting Liam anyway

They would have to plant this story in the media in a very careful way if they were going to lure Verne out of hiding. If she was in any way responsible or knew anything about Dio's whereabouts, they had to be careful.
