In the coming days, I’d noticed a huge change in Ivy's spirit. She wasn’t fully back to normal but she was steadfast on the road to recovery. With the baby dilemma handled, we could finally focus on the bigger picture. It was the day before Quentin’s bachelor party. I believed that every day leading up to this would mentally prepare me for what's to come but I was wrong. My confidence had reached its peak and was now faltering. But if I was going to back out, I would’ve done it a while back. The time for uncertainty has long since passed. Tomorrow I had to execute and I’d better be ready. I sat in Nikki's car silently gathering my thoughts as she drove me to the club. Eli and Ducati were out doing some last minute preparations for the party but they’d left the keys to both the rental and the warehouse inside my locker. Nikki let me out at the side entrance and sat there waiting. Inside, there was very little activity. I may have come across a couple of Ducati's men but they rarely speak to anyone but each other so they weren’t much of a bother to me. I passed the private area on the way to the locker room and could hear climaxed moaning coming from what were supposed to be heavily insulated rooms. Guess they’re only soundproof when there’s music playing. I grabbed the keys and began to walk out, only to be cut off by Chasity standing in the doorway. She wore a satisfied smirk on her face as she sauntered in.

“You look like you’re up to something.”

“So do you,” I said, eyeing her clothes. They were messily thrown together, yet there wasn’t a single hair out of place on her head. Her body also had a slight glisten to it as her sweat began to dry. She chuckled and took a seat in front of the mirror to fix herself up. Her eyes met mine through the reflection and she sat her lip gloss down in front of her.

“You’re not foolin' nobody with this nice girl act, Devyn. I promise I know more than you think I do.”

“And so do I, Chanel,” I said, thus proving my point. However, I walked up behind her and leaned down close enough to whisper in her ear so I could prove it further.

“I won’t say a word to Ducati or to your probation officer about your little prostitution ring, if you promise not to pry any deeper into my business. You may think you know what’s going on, and that’s cool… but you don’t.” Her face twisted up in irritation before she rounded on me, standing up to get in my face.

“Are you threatening me? Because I take threats and I run with them,” she said, bumping my chest with hers to push me back.

“All I did was propose an agreement. You’re the one being confrontational.” I smiled and it drove her insane, taking her frustration up to another level. She quickly brought a hand up to wrap around my neck, squeezing but not to the point where I’d lose my breath.

“Hanging with Eli's made you a pretty bold bitch.”

“Or maybe you just don’t intimidate me.” Her grip tightened some more but I still wasn’t ready to back down.

“Really? I get… choked harder than this… for fun,” I said, testing her. Out the corner of my eye, I saw Felipe standing in the doorway holding a heavily sealed package largely resembling a key of cocaine.

“Chas, leave Onyx alone. We got some more business to take care of,” he said, sniffing and rubbing at his nostrils. She ignored him, still staring me down relentlessly.

“Cocaine's a hell of a drug.” I smiled once more and she released my neck with a shove.

“Don’t think I’m done with you,” she threatened. After adjusting her clothes, she walked out with Felipe who turned around to mouth “you’re welcome.” He wasn’t doing me any favors, Chasity talked more shit than she could back up. She hardly wanted to choke me. As I opened the side door and walked out, I heard Nikki's voice as she was being harassed by Quentin. I shook my head and sighed, preparing to diffuse whatever the situation was.
