Tay POV
It was terrifying seeing Jenna pass out. I hadn't cried that much since the first time we tried to record Windows In Heaven. It seems that every day I care about this girl more and more. I love absolutely everything about her, especially the way she's holding me right now. I have my head against her chest, listening to her heartbeat, relaxing me. We're in Memphis, we finished sound checks, and now we're just waiting to get called for the VIP Meet & Greet. I felt my stomach growl softly and I realized how hungry I am. I looked up at the beautiful blonde holding me, only to find her fast asleep. I slipped out of Jenna's arms, making sure not to wake her up.
I was sure I saw a McD's up the street. I made my way up, humming to myself. You'll crack just like the rest when I break your fucking jaw. I sung softly while I did a slight punching movement. This earned me some stares from some people, but it also got me some smiling faces from some kids in band shirts. It's always the same, some kids just stare, others smile, some actually come up to me, not that I mind it at all.
I walked into the McDonald's and started the everlasting debate on whether to get a burger or mcnuggets. I figured the hunger I had now could only be satisfied with something big, and what's bigger than a Big Mac? I told the girl my order and waited on the side counter.
"Are you Tay Jardine?" an unfamiliar voice asked.
"Why, yes I am," I said as I turned over to face the direction the voice came from.
I was expecting to see a teenage girl, but was instead greeted by a beautiful woman. I had to look up at her, she was definitely a good six inches taller than me. She had light, flawless skin, her dark hair in a pixie cut brought out her amazing hazel eyes. She possessed the body of a Victoria's Secret model. I found myself lusting for her, but I quickly brushed it off and looked into her seducing hazel eyes.
"My name is Ryan. I am an old friend of Tonight Alive's, the band you're touring with," she said with an accent I immediately recognized as Australian.
Ryan, why did that name sound so familiar? Ryan, Ryan, wait, Jenna's Ryan? No, it can't be. The fact she knows TA and has their same accent must be a coincidence, or not. I looked up at her again. She was standing straight, hovering over my head. She may be huge, but she's not intimidating me. But what the hell is she doing in Memphis?
"Really? Well then I suspect you're coming to the show tonight?" I said, eyeing her carefully. She flashed me a bright, mischievous smile.
"Would never miss seeing my dear old friends," she said with that same smile.
Something about her demeanor was throwing me off. The tone she was using, the way she stood straight up, the fact she always kept eye contact with me, she was trying to intimidate me by acting superior. It was honestly pissing me off because the only thing she had on me was the height and the beauty that seemed to be so natural to her. The way she was eyeing me now, as if she was getting what she wanted was what finally got me to realize she wanted to upset me. Well, not today.
"Hope you enjoy the show. I'll see you later," I smirked and winked at her, taking my food and walking out the door.
I walked back to the bus casually. My burger had already suffered a few bites since the encounter with Ryan made my appetite fiercer. I tried sneaking into the bus, you know, just in case Jenna was still sleeping.
"Are you trying to kill yourself?" she asked when she saw my McDonald's bag.
"Shut up, I'm hungry," I said with my mouth full. She shook her head disappointingly and laughed.
"Hey, babe?" I said when I swallowed what was in my mouth.
"What's up, love?"
"What did Ryan, your ex, look like?" I asked. She turned to look at me with a pensive look.
