I woke up, went downstairs, and opened my door to check the mail.
On my porch was a vase of flowers and a note. Confused I take the flowers inside and read the note. It was from my boyfriend Ezra, it read,
"I love you, and I'll only stop loving you when the last flower wilts and dies. ~Ezra"
Well. F*ck. He KNOWS every living thing in my house dies. But I guess this is a way to prove I'm willing to work for our relationship.

It's been a month and the second to last flower wilted and died.
I went downstairs to water my last flower, pulling it out of the glass vase and trying to get a closer look at the rose.
A bright red array of petals, a dark green stem, plastic seams... Wait.. Plastic seams?
I take a closer look at the rose and only then is when I notice the rose is fake.
I call Ezra immediately.
"Yes?", asks Ezra.
"You B*TCH. You had me worried for a month. I thought this was your way of breaking up with me!", I complain.
"I won't ever break up with you. You know why?", he asks.
"Why?", I ask back.
"Because our love won't wilt, just like that flower."
