I stayed up till 4am last night so if some things in here don't make sense, I'm sorry. This is a song fic request! (Honestly live for song fics) also this is how I, myself, interpreted the song.

Before Ezra got ill he used to sing that phrase to you whenever you felt down, you decided to return the favor as he sat in the hospital.

I don't know why this has happened, but I probably deserve it

During your time with him in the hospital, you notice that he seems to space out. So you ask him what he was thinking about, he told you 'Us'.

During his time in the hospital, Ezra knew he didn't have long to live. One day, he looked towards you and told you,

One day as you came back from work, you saw him on the bed smiling. You asked him what got him in such a good mood, and he started talking about the past while you two teared up while laughing quietly.

Ezra had severe nightmares, so the way he would go to bed was you singing. He said it had a calming aura.

One day, as you were reading next to Ezra, he turned and told you he was sorry. He wouldn't elaborate further, no matter how many questions you asked.

As you sat, you started remembering when you both were kids. The happy times. When both of you would play house on the wood chips

One day, you made a coffee sculpture and brought it with you. You had a matching one hung around your neck, where it would always be with you

It had been a year later when you found ezra breathless on the hospital bed, most likely just taken his last breath. You screamed for the doctors while they urged you out of the room. A couple weeks after that you had Ezra's funeral. It was raining that day.

You still haven't gotten another partner, it's been too short of a time, but you still promised Ezra, and you don't break promises.

You laid down the coffee sculpture next to the stone, while you sung.

Hi my loves! I hope you've had an amazing weekend, and aren't going to get mad at me for a sad chapter today. This was a request, that honestly I loved. This is probably one of my favorite chapters. Last night I watched Onward again and cried again, so I'm definitely just a sap for good movies. I also watched Princess and the frog, because the songs are the best. Anyways I love you all!
