Nightmare before Christmas AU where Ezra is jack and we are sally,jschlatt is the mayor, Travis is zero, cooper is lock the devil , Carson is barrel the skeleton thing, and josh is shock the witch, Ted is the Oogie boogie man. Pokay as doctor Finklestein.
The dark sky in Halloween Town shone with only a bright moon. Ezra has been taking care of the town with Mayor Schlatt. It seems he is always in his house, and never has time to talk anymore, no more notes back for my nightly basket, no more talks on the rock by the graveyard.
I gave up trying to talk with him and just made my way down to the graveyard, where I found Travis, or his nickname, zero.
"Hey buddy, Ezra not paying attention to you?", I ask as he barks softly, most likely agreeing.
We sit down together and look out to the moon, taking in the times together, as Travis barely gets attention from Ezra, we slowly drift to sleep.
~Ezra's POV wow you definitely saw that coming ngl~
I wait by the window for the sweet basket as always, but it never comes.
'Maybe she's just busy?' I think as she always brings around a basket at this time. 10 minutes pass and I've had enough.
I climb down the creaky stairs,
"I am the one hiding under your stairs, fingers like snak-."
"Shut it!", I yell cutting off his song.
I continue down the stairs, rushing out the house and to Doc's house.
Knock knock!
I knock on his door and he opens, clearly tired.
"Uh, Doctor Poke, is uh y/n home?", I ask.
"Uh no? I thought she left to give you your basket?, you have been writing back haven't you? She's been leaving notes in the basket.", he asks.
"Those were notes? I thought they were just card stock to write her a thank you note!", I say as I slightly swear under my breath.
"Gotta go! Thanks doc!", I yell as I rush to the one place I knew she would be...
~y/N's pov!~
The silent night continued, as it seemed to always be dark in Halloween Town lately, only the soft chirp of grasshoppers were present. Until I heard the faint, crunch crunch, the sound of gravel under feet. And someone seemed to be running.
Probably Shock, Lock, and Barrel. But it seemed to be one pair of feet? So maybe Ted the Oogie boogie man? No. Seemed to be light footsteps.
As the footsteps came closer, the shadow of the tall skinny man came into view.
"Hey.. y/n.. I'm so sorry. I didn't think to even write back! I just thought you knew I cared!", he desperately shouted.
"It's not just that.. it's that you don't have time for me and zero anymore!", I yell at him.
"I'll make more time I promise remember the saying of our town!", he said as he hugged me, and I leant into his touch. We both whisper the saying together,
"This Our Town of Halloween"
