*The next day*
'Mae.'
'Don't talk to him.'
'He'll hurt you. Just like Lucas.'
'Mae. They aren't your friends anymore. They hate you.'
"Okay." I said aloud. "I know."
*Health class*
I walk past Mimi, X, Ski, and Billie and move towards the other side of the room.
'haha, they all hate you.'
"Everyone does." I reply to my thoughts, staring ahead.
'Mae' a voice whispers in my left ear.
"Mae!" Jahseh waves for me to come over. I turn my head and stare forward.
'remember what your dad did when you told him who you hang out with?'
My ribs hurt so bad. I can't breathe.
'Mae....' another voice says.
"Mae?" Mimi says, sitting next to me.
I feel a tear slip down my cheek as I stare forward.
"Amirah." I say coldly, letting the tears drip off of my face.
"Don't do that. What's wrong?" she asks.
'She hates you, remember?' the voice hisses and I nod.

"Mae! What the fuck is wrong with you?! You stupid bitch!" Amirah jumps up and pulls me up with her. "Mae!"

I jump in my seat. Mimi sits across from me, silent.
"Go away." I say boredly.
"What happened yesterday?" she asks.
"Leave me alone." I roll my eyes.
"Mae— I'll use your real name if you don't stop. That's who you are when you're..... this."
"Shut the fuck up. Get out of my face." I spit.
"Cut it out!"
My ribs hurt.
I grab her by her jacket and pull her up. She struggles a little and I see Jahseh, Billie, and Stokeley all stand up.
"I hate you." I say to her.
"I don't believe you." she whispers. I let go of her jacket and push her.
"You should!" I step closer. "I hate you!" I step closer. "I fucking hate your guts!"
Someone wraps their arms around me and I look up and see Luke. He's smiling, his face busted up.
"My ribs." I cry out a little, while smiling. He loosens his grip around me and we smirk down at Mimi.
"What the—" she starts.
"What the fuck is goin on?!" Jahseh says, glaring at me and Luke.
"Me and him are dating." I say, looking in jahseh's eyes.
"You better stop your shit right now, Mae. I ain't playing wit you." Jahseh answers angrily.
"Mr. Lund, I'm going to the restroom." I say, leaving the room with Jahseh following me.
"Mae!" he says, pulling me to him.
"I'm sorry." I say, tearing up.
"What's wrong?"
"My dad..... he is making me date Lucas. He's making me ignore you guys." I explain.
"That makes sense. I'll tell Mimi later." he says and I nod.
'Hit him.'
'Hurt him. Like you did Amirah. Like Lucas did to you'
