"Hey Mae." Luke wraps his arm around my shoulders.
"Hey L-luke." I sigh.
We've been dating for a couple months now. He's just— perfect.
"Mae-Mae!" My best friend, Mimi tackles me in a hug. Luke sends a glance at Mimi. I think they hate each other. Just a little. Or a lot.
"Yo, like back up." Luke says, scrunching his eyebrows.
"Shut the fuck up, Lucas." Mimi crosses her arms. She knows that Luke hates being called Lucas.
"Oh be quiet, Amirah." Luke taunts. (Sorry Mimi, I don't know what I'm doing with my life.)
"Just wait til she isn't here." she points to me. "And then I'mma fucking kill you."
"G-guys—" I start.
"Mae." they say at the same time and then glare at each other.
"We sh-should go." I say, grabbing Luke's hand and we all walk down the hall to our class.We walk in and I look for a seat in the back of the class. "N-now y'all sit where ever the fuck you w-want. I'm sitting here." I say and slide into my seat. Luke sits beside me and Mimi sits in front of me.
"All right. Roll call!" Mr Lund yells. "If you have a nickname you'd like me to call you then say so. If I mispronounce your name, blame your mom not me. Bryce Kane?"
"Here."
"Lucas Mirador?" (not his actual last name yo)
"Just call me Luke."
"Jahseh Onfroy?"

"What?" Mr Lund asks. I look at the guy next to me. Wow. He's........ different. A good different though. A nice different.
"Call me X." he says quietly. "Please."
"Alright." Mr Lund nods. "Kassie Marie?"
"Here."

"Ski. " another guy sitting next to X says.
"Like the soda. Got it.Lacey?"
"Mae."

"Okay then. Neveah?"

"Sit down JaKyse." Mr Lund says.
"Okay." and he does.
"What a fucking idiot." Luke whispers to me and I giggle.
"Luke! Did I miss the joke?" Mr Lund asks.
"No sir."
"Alright then. Let's watch a movie."
