Forth can't help the upward tick of his lips as Beam winces. An all too familiar scene except the roles are reversed. Instead of him coming to Beam's, Forth had opened his door to get their take out to find Beam already outside in a stained white button down and a face that'd been attempted to be rearranged by a fist. Now, here they are sitting on Forth's bed with Beam in one of Forth's comfy black v-neck t-shirts being doctored by Forth.
"Now, it's okay to cry if you want too." Forth teased him with the same words that Beam had said to him when he'd gotten in his last fight with some hazers from the geography faculty. Beam tried to pull away from the peroxide dipped cotton ball barely touched his lips. He didn't get far with Forth tightening his hold on Beam's jaw.
"Oh shut up." Beam glared.
"So are you going tell me what happened?" Forth chuckled changing the subject a bit. He was curious at the person that would make his boyfriend get into a fist fight. Beam tried to avoid getting physical if he can. He didn't want there to be any incidents on his record. Forth knew this and had made an effort to deescalate things more often as well. He didn't want to get him inadvertently in trouble and besides a disappointed Beam hurt worse than a fist in Forth's book.
Beam sighed heavily , "Auntie sent me to give some documents to one your professors and I stopped by the canteen to get a tea before I came here." Beam paused wincing as Forth put the ointment on his lip. "While I was waiting I overheard them talking about you and I -"
"Decided to defend my honor?" Forth grinned interrupting Beam. Beam nodded glad that Forth hadn't wanted specifics because what the guy had said about Forth had made him loose all sense of control. He was pulled from his thoughts as Forth gripped his chin between his thumb and index tilting his head up to press a gentle kiss to his lips avoiding the cut.
"Thank you but you don't need to do that in the future." Forth stated as he moved back dropping his hand "The only opinions that matter to me is my family, you, and my friends. Everyone else doesn't matter."
Beam smiled despite the pain he got from his lip. A warmth spread in his chest from yet another reminder of how much Forth cared about him.
