JamesCameronAcademy. The old, brick building loomed ominously in front of me, the weathered walls seemed to be holding secrets waiting to be unveiled.

This is where I'll be living for the remainder of my high school career. The school's website said the building was over 200 years old, yet the building was just opening this year as a school. It had been used as a school many years ago, but it was shut down due to a tragic accident. What can I say; I wanted all the information about this mysterious new school. All of this information added with the eerie surroundings and an overcast sky provided a welcoming atmosphere... or not.

Quit stalling, I muttered to myself. I probably looked like an idiot; just staring up at the school and talking to myself. I released the breath I didn't know I had been holding and trudged up the stairs to the door. The brass knocker made a large bang when I let it fall to the door and I flinched slightly. The place kept getting scarier and scarier so I started humming to myself, "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands. If you're not completely freaked out by this weird place and seriously considering going home, clap your hands." I was just starting to clap my hands when I was interrupted by the opening of a door.

I blinked and quickly dropped my hands to my side. Standing in the door was a young woman with black hair and dark eyes. One of her eyebrows was raised and the corners of her mouth were slightly lifted.

"Can I be of assistance?" She questioned. Her voice was soft.

"Uh... Hi. I'm Sadie Flynn. I'm supposed to be a student here." I stuttered nervously.

The woman laughed, "Well since you're supposed to be a student, come in." She opened the door wider and I stepped inside.

The room was small and had a very high ceiling. The walls were a buttery yellow color and hanging from the ceiling was an ornate chandelier. There was only one door besides the one I had just stepped through and the lady proceeded to walk through it, talking as she walked.

"My name is Cynthia Brown, to you, Ms. Brown. I'm the girl's dorm supervisor." I hauled my things into the next room which seemed to be a recreation room. There were couches on either wall and little side tables next to them. I dumped my stuff next to one of the couches and hurried after Cynthia.

She gave me a tour of the house; there were 22 rooms: 12 for dorm rooms, 5 for classrooms, 3 for recreation rooms, 1 for a ballroom, and 1 for a library. There were also 5 bathrooms. Cynth-Ms Brown gave a brief history on each room. "Consider yourself lucky to be the first one here," Ms. Brown remarked, "You get a private tour." I rolled my eyes. Oh so lucky. When she was finished, Ms. Brown handed me a packet that had my room number in it and my schedule. I thanked her and hurried up to my room, hoping I got one of the good ones.

I cautiously opened the door and smiled when I saw it. It was one of the rooms that had a balcony. I immediately claimed the bed by the balcony by dumping my bags on it.

I had just finished unpacking when there was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in."

In came a girl who looked like she was my age, 16. She had long blonde hair and brown eyes.

"Hi! I'm Rochelle, you must be Sadie. Nice to meet you!" She crossed the room and pumped my hand.

"Er, hi. Nice to meet you too." I muttered.

Rochelle flashed perfectly white teeth and walked back to the door. My eyes bulged as she came back in with a suitcase double my size.

Rochelle laughed at my expression, "Hey, it was under the limit so I thought I might as well take it."
