The crickets chirped as the roar of a dirt bike engine zoomed passed on the road. Clover kept her hands on the handles of the dirt bike as Zack sat behind her, having his paws on her shoulder to hang onto. "So, this park you were at, you encountered a family that took you in?"
"Yeah," Zack bluntly replied.
"For how long? You were gone for a while?! Everyone is worried sick about you! Including Jake!" Clover claimed.
"Yes. I figured."
The thirteen year old took the turn before speeding down it as she then spoke. "I bet the family was really nice, taking something like you in with them, without them knowing roughly anything about you and what you are." she then sighed. "I was honestly expecting something else to go wrong again."
"Yeah, fine."
Clover then flinched at at thought. "Wait, before I went to bed, I heard on the news about a rabid animal attack in the town nearby. Please don't tell me that isn't what I think it is, Zack."
"Fine, I won't tell."
"So, now that you are back? What are we going to do about Gloria? We were gonna tell the police about who attacked us, but we couldn't tell them that it was some beastly creature. That just wouldn't make sense and have everyone think that the attack has gotten to our heads... so we just said 'Gloria' and just got done with it... could have said 'Gloria in a fur suit,' now that I think about it. For all we know, she could just be wandering everywhere without anybody batting an eye. She has every advantage!"
"She doesn't have an advantage."
Clover recoiled as she took another turn with the dirt bike. "Wha-How do you know that?"
"I don't know. I suspect." the lucario replied. "She thinks I'm missing or dead. Good. Leave it like that. We have an advantage. We can surprise her."
Clover than sighed. "Well, to do that, we need to know her next move which we don't know... so we are still kind of at a middle point."
"Yes. Fine."
Silence grew between the two as Clover kept speeding down the road in hopes of returning to the creature's family faster. Clover than broke the silence. "So... you're dad's dead... huh?" she solemnly said.
"Yeah." Zack replied.
Clover than sighed. "Yeah, mine disappeared. He just up and left."
Zack nodded. "Yeah. I've heard he disappeared often."
Clover recoiled at his words. "What? No! My dad's dead! I don't have a dad!"
Clover turned her eyes to a direction as the silence grew before she then spat out some pained words. "He is dead okay? Dead. A man that none of us have ever met, and it is a painful thought! So let's just stop talking about it!"
The dirt bike sped over a small hill as Zack sighed. "Yeah, fine."
