Yesterday was my five-month check-up at my woman's doctor. Jean is busy with filming a new movie he is in and Yusef and I saw my doctor on our own. Afterward, we drive out to Jean's set and took him lunch. While the crew reset the scene he walked over to Yusef and me.

'Thank you for this I am starving.' Jean spoke taking a bite of his food. My phone rang and it is my mother.

'Hello, mama.'

'Hello, sweetheart. How are you kids doing?' She asked and sound sad?

'Busy. What is wrong mama?' I asked her.

'It is uncle Rupert he is very sick in the hospital. He is asking for you sweetheart.' I instantly felt ice cold as I just sit heavily on the sidewalk.

'What is wrong with him mama?'

'Doctors have done hundreds of tests and finally found cancer that is in stage four in his stomach. They can operate on him because it had spread to much already.' Mom kept telling me the saddest news I've heard in years. I was crying now. Jean sat next to me holding me to him as I keep listening to mom.

Uncle Rupert has always been my favorite uncle on my dad's side of the family. Jean hand me a tissue and rubbed my back. Uncle Rupert thought me how to drive, dance and encourage me to start traveling or I will just get stuck at home forever. Uncle Rupert is my father's youngest brother. They are four kids.

'How is aunty Carol take this?'

'Not good. We are all still in such shock about all this. Dad is also not taking this well.'

'I can just imagine. They have always been close.' I spoke ripping my nose on my tissue. 'I see what I can do to get home, but it would probably just be me and Yusef. Jean is busy filming a movie.'

'Okay. Keep me posted on his condition please.'

'I will. Speak to you soon honey.' Mom spoke and we hung up.

'What is going on?' Jean asked me.

'It is uncle Rupert.'

'Your father's kid brother you danced with on our wedding?'

'Yes. According to mom, he got really sick and doctors have done hundreds of tests and found he has stomach cancer that is already so bad that they can't even operate on him to remove it. She said he is asking for me.'

'Then you must go. I'll be okay here.' Jean spoke and they were called back to set.

'Let's talk tonight when you're home. It is a really long flight all the way to Durban, South Africa.'

'How lengthy?' He asked helping me to my feet from the sidewalk.

'We are talking about thirteen to fourteen hours of flying with a baby.' I replied. Jean took my hand and kissed it.

'Goodness, I see what you mean.' They rang the set bell for a second time. 'I have to go. We'll talk tonight.' He spoke up and gave me a warm hug.

'Okay, be safe and break a leg.'

'Thank you. Drive safe and thanks for lunch angel.' He said running to set.

'You're welcome.' I said and got Yusef strapped into his car seat again and we drove home. We got home and I carried in all the groceries I bought. After I stored everything away I sat and fed Yusef his lunch then rock my tenth-month-old baby boy to sleep. He fell asleep really quickly. I got busy with my client's work and I worked between making dinner. Jean got home around seven PM.
