Chapter 22

I wake up to a hard slap on the side of my head.Marvel stands above me with a grin,"How did you sleep,princess?".I look down at the ground and don't answer.i wonder if Thresh and Rue are worried.i hope they don't look for me,that would only mean death.Clove unties the ropes that force me against the tree.i fall on the ground,breathing heavily."What's the matter,little princess?you can't take it anymore after one night?",Clove says in a belittling tone.i stand up and breath more regularly,I cant let her see my struggles,"I'm fine,but thank you for asking" I say in a mockingly sweet tone.Cato comes over to us,"Ok,what direction towards them?".i swallow hard.should I miss lead them and make my life shorter,or should I lead them the right way,and make Rue's life shorter?"they are over in the wheat field and to the right" I say.actually our camp is to the left. "ok,let's get our weapons and head out" Cato says to Clove and the others.the only thing I'm allowed to have is a water bottle and a night vision glasses for night.Cato shoves me a head of him and tells Clove to always have her knives out in case I try to run.we walk for two hours until stoping.Peeta sits next to me on the ground.i avoid talking to him because I know if he really cared,he could have let me out last night."Are we close?",Glimmer says coming up to me."no,it will take a couple days to get there".Cato must have over heard this and comes over,"a couple days?" he asks me angrily."umm yeah,we picked a good spot" I say."Clove,Marvel,come here" Cato calls to them.once everyone is there they go into discussion,to keep on looking for Thresh,or to go hunt more easier targets now then wait for Thresh to come.We walk for another two hours back up the way we came.when we reach the top,Cato,Marvel and Glimmer leave to find tributes,leaving Clove and Peeta to watch me.the minute they leave Clove has work for me to do,"Your a plant girl,right?".i have seen plants in our family's plant book,but Katniss was the real expert,"Um yes,Why?". Clove yanks me with her while she takes,"Because you will find stuff for you to eat." "Why can't I eat what you guys eat?" "because we dont want you here,and eating up our food would mean we wouldn't have any".Clove forces me to the ground,to dig ruts and plants and stuff.after a while Clove starts talking out loud as she throws her knives at a tree,"Why can't this time go faster",the knife hits the tree."Is marvel that stupid?",the blade hits the tree."Why am I in these games with Cato?" knive hits the tree."Why does Glimmer have to like Cato".the knive doesn't fly into the tree,instead she sits down and puts her head in her hands,I almost feel bad for her.to get my mind off of her I go back to diging up roots.then I hear a cannon.me and Clove look at the sky and we see it's someone we know.Marvel.
