Chapter 26

I run threw the field slashing all wheat that is in my way.i trip over a rock but get back up "Rue!",shout,"Rue,I'm coming!".i reach the clearing were Rue is,she is giggling with Thresh."Rue!Rue?are you ok?"I say."Prim!",she says running over to me.she hugs me but I pull back,"What happened?!i heard a scream!"."I was singing and Thresh came up out of nowhere and scared me!",she says looking at him with a pretend mad face."hey,it was you who screamed!",he points out and then laughs."well I thought something happened!",I say still hyped up."Don't worry about me!what happened to you?we woke up and you were gone!",she says with big eyes."I was gonna help Peeta but I ran into Cato and they almost killed me,but I talked my way into being a servant",I explain."That must have been horrible!",Rue exclaims."Yeah,but I'm here with you two now",I say with a tone of relief in my voice."So lets get some sleep!",Thresh says sleepily."Sounds good to me!",I agree unrolling a sleeping bag.

I awake to find myself shivering in a frozen state.everything is coated with ice and snow.I force myself up and look around for the other two.Thresh is shivering in his sleep and Rue is shivering more intensely.as i crawl over to Rue,the snow underneath me seems to be made of pins.when I get closer to her,I notice she is purple.i have seen this before back in 12,when the people are turning purple and shivering intently,my mom calls it,Hypothermia.I quickly look threw are backpacks and get out a blanket and a sleeping bag and cover her,then i wake Thresh up.he seems to see her with in a instant and gets up,"I'm gonna go scout a head and find a place for us,you stay with her and pack stuff"."Wait!i know what the gammakers want!they want us to go up by the careers and the woods!"."So you want to take her into the woods?",he says."it's the only way to keep her alive!"."ok then I'll pack and you get Rue ready"."Rue it's time to get up" I say in a scared voice,but Rue doesn't respond."Wake up Rue",still no response.i shake her,and her eyes flutter open a bit."Rue,you need to get up.the gammakers made it snow so now we have to move up into the forest.your really sick so you need to stay awake,ok" I tell her."ok" she says in a weak voice that is shaky.i hug her,"it will be ok"."let's go!" Thresh says with sever backpacks on."How is she gonna walk?" I say."Here",he says handing me a backpack and then lifting Rue onto his back,"I'll carry her,and you can carry some of the supplies".we pack up and start moving toward the forest.once we see the lake and cornucopia in the distance,the snow stops falling.I see Glimmer and Clove are talking to Cato over by the tree that I was roped to.i spot Peeta on the outskirts by a tree.he doesn't look well."this way" I whisper to Thresh pointing at a tree way by Peeta.he goes first,unseen.then I go.Peeta sees me and grabs me by the ankle,"What are you doing here?".he's face is like a waterfall of blood coming from his forehead."no time to explain,I can help your cut.just come with us and be safe"."I'm tied to his tree" he says looking at the knots.i take my knife out and begin to saw.i look up for a second,just long enough to see Cato look at me.i have a feeling that this will be the end of me.
