One month earlier. So basically, back in the canteen but like, just after Dean and Gabriel left.
"Trying to lose weight, hm?" Sherlock asked as he looked at the salad Sam put on the table in front of him.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, no, just staying healthy. God bless kale, am I right?"
"You weren't fat. No that's not it..."
"What?" Sam asked confused.
"Oh, nothing. Just trying to figure out why you're dieting like this. I mean, all you brought is a bottle of water and an apple and now you could buy anything in the canteen and you bought a salad? And you don't even seem to like the salad that much. So-"
"It's a doctor's description, if you have to know. By the way, you didn't even buy anything, don't you eat?"
"Nah, I don't do breakfast, or lunch... But wait, seriously? A doctor's description? Whatever that for?"
"Nothing, forget it. Can I please just eat?"
"Yeah, sure." Sherlock tried to keep quiet after that but that didn't last long. "I think you might be the first person I met that I couldn't read."
"What?" Sam said as he looked up at Sherlock with a piece of kale hanging from his lip.
"I'm normally really good at reading people but somehow it's harder with you."
"Uhm, okay," Sam said as he continued eating.
"Whatever you are, I will figure it out, and it will be fascinating," Sherlock whispered to himself.

Dean and Gabriel's last class was over and they were on their way to the parking lot, laughing harder than a human being should be able to.
"Did you see here face?" Gabriel said, whipping the tears he got from laughing so hard of his cheeks.
"I know right! I can't believe she actually felt for it. She was damn mad though. There might be a chance we get expelled but it will totally be worth it."
"If we get caught that is."
"You seemed very experienced in these types of pranks though. Have you done it before?"
"Yeah, uhm, in high school my nickname was 'The trickster'. I used to prank everyone."
"Why did you ever stop? At least, we've been in the same class for a year and somehow I didn't even knew you existed and I'm pretty sure there hadn't been any prank like this before."
"I, uhm, I don't know. I used to prank mostly my friends or prank other people together with my friends but..."
"But what?"
"I haven't really been able to make any friends in college."
"Oh... Well, that changed today then. I'll be looking forward to pranking with you more often. I have to go now though. I see my brother's already waiting at my car and I'm his ride home."
"Oh, yeah, I have to bring my brother home as well, if I remember where I put the care," Gabriel said as he scanned the parking lot for his car, "Oh, there it is."
"Well, goodbye for now then. See ya tomorrow," Dean said as he looked over his shoulder at Gabriel before walking over to his own car.
"Not if I see you first!" Gabriel shouted back just too late for Dean to hear. Gabriel smiled anyhow, he might have just made a new friend today. It had been a while since that happened. He better not fuck it up.
