"T-talk about what?" Gabriel stuttered as he grabbed his ice tea, shaking his hands a bit while doing so.
Dean sat in front of Gabriel in the round booth seat in the corner of the cafeteria. "Hm, I don't know," he started, "maybe about the weather, it sure is nice out toda- The kiss of course, you idiot!"
"Oh, that..." was all Gabriel could say while his mind was going 'fuck fuck fuck fuck' over and over again.
"Yeah, that," Dean said as he took a sip from his coke.
"I- I'm sorry, I-"
"Sorry? Sorry for what?"
"Sorry for kissing you, I don't know why I did that. I wasn't thinking, I was drunk, I don't know."
"Oh," Dean said slightly disappointed, "yeah, me too."
"What?"
"What what?"
"What what what?"
"What what what what?"
"What what what what what?"
"Okay dude, we need to stop this because we both know we could last literally forever with this."
"Yeah, fair point."
Dean took another sip from his coke. "So what were we saying again?"
"What so what were we saying again?"
"Dude–"
"Okay sorry I'll stop. Anyway, I was trying to ask you what was wrong. You seemed disappointed in my reply."
"Oh, that."
"Yeah, that."
"It's nothing, I just, I guess I was hoping for a different answer"
"What kind of answer?"
"Maybe like- No, never mind."
Gabriel chugged his ice tea, stood up, threw the empty can away and came back and sat next to Dean.
"Maybe, like what?" he said as he looked at Dean with his big puppy eyes.
Dean turned to face Gabriel, with their eyes only inches apart.
"Maybe you could have said you didn't regret it. Maybe you liked it. Maybe you would have wanted to do it when you were sober but you were just too scared and needed some alcohol in your system to do it. So maybe you were lucky enough that you- I mean, I came in after you drank so much beer so we could play Mario Kart together and you could finally sit close to me without being scared of whatever you, or I, or anyone would think. And maybe you thought why not just randomly kiss uh- me on the cheek and see what happens. And maybe, just maybe, not just be so god damn lucky that he kissed me- you- whatever, back when you're saying goodbye in the garden. Maybe like, something like that."
Gabriel stared at him for a second, not really sure yet what to say, when Dean started rambling again.
"Hey, wait," Dean continued, "did you really just chug an entire soda can just so you would have a reason to walk away and sit next to m-"
"Just kiss me, you idiot."
And so as it was told, it was done.
Dean put his hand in Gabriels neck and kissed him right there and then. They kissed for a few seconds but not too long as they soon realized they were in a cafeteria and even though it was almost empty, and even though the kiss was really good, it still felt kind of weird kissing like that in public.
So they found their way to a walk-in closet and made out for a bit before their eleven o'clock class started.
