About two weeks had passed since the party. Dean and Gabriel took every chance they had, to either prank random people on the campus or find a quiet place to make out. Sam had realised that smoking that one cigarette at the party, perhaps hadn’t been the best decision. Since smoking has been all he's been doing for the past two weeks, together with Sherlock behind the football field.

Amy and her friends did the same as they always did, drink coffee while avoiding homework and talking about boys. Normally Castiel would sit next to them and do homework, while they chatted about whatever they thought was more important than homework. But for the past week, he had seemed to be avoiding them.

Amy tried to talk to him multiple times, but everytime she tried he just said, he didn't have time to talk and ran off quickly. She figured that whatever was going on, he had to deal with on his own, and after that he could go find her in the canteen again himself. So she let him go for now.

Now it's Thursday morning and Castiel just found out his 10 am class got canceled, so he left the classroom and made his way to the footballfield. He sat down on the ground against the wall and took out his notebook.

'Secret notes by Cassie' was written on the cover of the notebook, surrounded by a lot of glitter and stickers. Castiel got the notebook from his brother on his thirteenth birthday. Gabriel had told him, to use it for whenever he had to write something down, that he didn't want anyone else to read. This all took place a few weeks after Gabriel had accidentally read some stuff, Castiel didn't want anyone to know. He however did promise not to tell anyone. All of this was a long time ago.

The book hadn't been used a lot. Just a few random scribbles of thoughts from when he was thirteen. Often when he was feeling down and didn't knew who to talk to, he could always tell his notebook. He didn't need it for the past years, it wasn't until last week that Castiel found the need to write in it again.

He turned the first page. It read 'Do not read unless your name is Castiel Novak. Especially not, if your name is Gabriel Novak!' He turned the second page. It read 'roses are red, violets are blue, i don't know what to write, but then again, whoop dee freakin doo, who cares.' Castiel laughed as he read that one. He didn't even realise it back then, but that was the first poem he had ever written. After that there were many more ofcourse but that was and always will be Castiel Novak's first real poem.

He flipped a few more pages and found one he wrote only a few months into writing poetry. 'As summer falls and fall summons, my smile fades and my fate crumbles, they say the sun hides behind the rain, however that seems irrelevant to the healing of this dreadful pain.' Castiel frowned slightly, while reading that. It seems like he had been going through a very hard time, but as Castiel looked at the exact date he remembered, that he wrote this because school started again and he couldn’t help but laugh a bit.

"Must be a pretty funny book, huh?" a voice said, startling Castiel a bit. "What?" He said as he quickly closed the book and looked up. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to scare you."

"Oh no, it's fine, you didn't scare me, I was just- uhm, reading this, uhm, nevermind. Hey wait, don't I know you?"

"Yeah, we met at the intro class first day of the year."

"Oh yeah, that was it. Anyway, what are you even doing here? I'm sorry, that sounded rude, I just meant, people don't come here often."

"Oh, me and my friend actually come here quite often ..to smoke. Oh, that reminds me," he said as he lit up a cigarette. "You want one too?"

Castiel politely turned his offer down.

"Suit yourself," he said as he inhaled his cigarette. "What was your name again? I seem to have forgotten."

"Castiel."

"Oh, that's right. I'm Sam, by the way, incase you forgot."
