"BayFall!" Called SongPool, rushing into the medicine cat den.
"Yes, SongPool?" He asked, looking up from sorting herbs.
"We've found RatTuft stuck on a thorn bush!" She frantically meowed.
BayFall rolled his eyes. "Alive? Or dead?" He mewed.
"Alive, we still have a chance to save him! Come on!" She said, tugging at his tail.
"Fine, fine! I'll get my herbs and go with you!" He snapped.
She nodded, waiting for him. BayFall grabbed the herbs he'd knew he would need.
"Let's go." He meowed to the gray and white she-cat.
He followed her to where he left RatTuft the night before.
"So, I heard RockStar will choose RatTuft as her deputy if he gets better soon." SongPool mewled.
"Just great." He muttered to himself.
They arrived to the dawn patrol, consisting of CowDapple, PaleHawk, TimberPaw, and ToadPaw.
"Is he going to die, PaleHawk?" TimberPaw timidly mewed to her mentor.
"No, he won't." PaleHawk responded. "BayFall's a good enough medicine cat to not let that happen."
TimberPaw gave a tiny nod."Oh! There's BayFall!" Mewled ToadPaw.
He ignored the cats, beginning work on treating RatTuft.
"I hope FlameKit doesn't end up like him, always in danger." Scoffed CowDapple. "I don't want to see such a good kit end up like his troublesome kin."
BayFall froze. Darkness surrounded him.
"I hope they don't end up being like PineSnow, too naive for her own good. Got her killed." Snickered a voice.
"Sad BayKit looks like her, eh, FishWhiskers?" Another voice responded.
Laughter rang through BayFall's ears. It felt like eyes were staring at him, at every direction. He felt himself falling. Continuing to fall. The falling stopped. Then, it felt like he had been set on fire with the hottest flame. It burned. He wanted to screech, but he couldn't. He saw something in front of him. Stars? Were they stars? Had he suddenly died? Where was he? Was he in the place of no stars, because he was such a horrible medicine cat? Every feeling in his body suddenly just stopped.
