The Clan's Omen

Chapter 11

LeafKit looked to SandyKit, as they followed the strangers back to wherever they were going.

"SandyKit?" She called.

"Yeah, LeafKit?" He responded.

"Do you think BayFall will be alright?" She mewed.

"I don't know.. RockPelt DID manage to get a hit on him, but he's strong." SandyKit meowed.

"Oh! Okay. But, where do you think they're taking us?" LeafKit questioned.

"I dunno, LeafKit. Maybe somewhere better than MossClan..." SandyKit replied.

She nodded. "Maybe we should push more to the front? See who the leader is?" She suggested.

"Ok, sure." The sand-colored tom meowed. "Let's get up there."

As they pushed through to the front of the many wounded cats, they managed to see a pale brown shape leading them.

"Hey, SandyKit? Doesn't that look like DustDawn?" She whispered.

SandyKit nodded, moving towards her.

The leader of the cats stopped in her tracks, gasping in shock of the sight of SandyKit.

"My son! He's alive!" She cried.

"Mum!" SandyKit meowed, shocked. "You're ok!"

She watched from the crowd as DustDawn nuzzled SandyKit, and carried him on her back.

"She's always liked SandyKit more.. Even if I'm not her kit, it still sort of hurts.." She thought to herself.

She headed to the back of the cats, where BayFall and the rest of the kits were.

"LarkKit and MinnowKit! they're dead.." TawnyKit said to her brother, FlameKit. "W-We'll never see them again!"

"We have to! They're our kin! Kin stay together, right?" He asked.

"Yeah.. I guess you're right.." TawnyKit mewed.

LeafKit's eyes turned to FrostKit and RainyKit. The two were probably very shaken up by GingerKit's death as well.

"G-GingerKit saved us.. He didn't deserve to die like he did, FrostKit.." RainyKit meowed.

FrostKit gave a tiny nod, continuing to walk. LeafKit continued moving to the back, finally reaching the gray she-cat carrying BayFall.

"Ah, hello, uh- kit." The gray cat meowed.

"Is he going to be ok..?" LeafKit asked.

"He's not going to die, don't worry." She responded.
