"Dad, you have got to me kidding me!" I screamed at him.

"Mum is on her deathbed and only has two weeks left, TWO WEEKS! Of her life left. And you decide to get married again? ARE YOU INSANE?" I yelled. He's can't be serious, he's marrying someone else the moment Mum dies?

"Lexi-"

"Fuck off." I said slamming the door. It was pouring it down outside and my hair was starting to get wet but I didn't care. My feet knew where to go and soon I ended up at Autumn's house. Autumn's my best friend, been there for me since day 1 and I'll be there for her.

I got my keys out of my pocket and went into her house.

"Hey Lexi," Cassie said to me, Cassie is Autumn's mum and is so nice, she's like a second mum to me.

"Rough day?" She asked giving me a hug and passing me a towel.

"You could say that."

She sat me down on the couch and sat next to me asking me what was wrong.

"Dad's getting married again on the 17th which is only two days, TWO DAYS! After-"

"I know chickie, I know." She said sighing. Cassie was bestfriends with my mum and was always happy to look after me when she was busy. She's just so.. kind.

"Lex you want an oreo?" Autumn asked coming into the room.

"Yeah," I said catching the packet as she threw it to me.

"Catch," She said throwing my controller at me, she put in the game and we started playing. I let out my anger at the zombies and I think Autumn could tell by the way she kept glancing over at me.

"Want to talk about it?"

"No, I can deal with it." I said not even looking at her, she switched off the game and turned towards me.

"Your ears turn red when your lying."

"They do not!" I yelled, running over to her mirror. Sure enough, they were bright red.

"Told you," She said smiling.

"Shut up you goblin."

"Goblin?! If I'm a goblin then you're a rat!" She said pushing me. I laughed hitting her shoulder. I love Autumn, one second I'll be feeling sad and over thinking everything and the next she'll be there making me laugh.

"Want to stay over tonight?"

"I would, but I need to sort things out with Dad, well it's probably going to be yelling at him. Actually you know what? I'll stay over. I don't want to look at him. He cheated on mum, is going to marry another woman right after mum dies, and I'm going to- I don't know! I just don't know why he would just cheat on mum like that."

"Lexi" She said pulling me in for a hug, I tried to speak but she squashed my face and only let go when I started pounding on her back.

"Get off me you goblin!" I yelled.

"Shut up!"

We were just about to start our movie marathon when suddenly there was a loud knock at the door.

"Lily! Can you get the door!" Autumn screamed at her little sister. Lily didn't even answer so I'm guessing she didn't get it so Cass went. I could hear her talking to someone and she called me over there.

"What is it?" I asked.

I stepped past her and saw it was my dad. He looked rough, his eyes were red and he had bags under his eyes.

"Lexi, I want you to meet Emily, your new mum."
